How do you think about work-life balance?

By far the most common conversation we have with the folks we interview is about work-life balance. Starting a business or pursuing a creative career makes finding work life balance really tough because there is no clear start and end to one’s work day. Honestly its extremely hard to maintain balance in my life but I am a strong believer in chasing all of my dreams and not just some. I have to balance my “job”, 2 businesses, family, and music career. I try not to make excuses. Sometimes I find myself procrastinating and I have to force myself out of it. I had to learn not to spread myself too thin. After years in the industry, I found myself diving headfirst into all kinds of projects; some that didn’t align with my vision, brand, or aesthetic at all. At the time, I thought saying “yes” to everything was the key to growth, but I eventually realized it was actually holding me back.
Over time, I learned to be more selective. I started filtering out what and who I gave my energy to, making sure it matched the level I’m currently at or the higher level I’m striving toward.
