We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amy, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking is an absolute must when you are growing a business or even starting one. When you get comfortable you definitely stop growing because you are okay with the space that you are in, which is amazing if you feel like you are good there but if you are looking to grow as a person or if you’re growing a business there has to be risk involved. To me risk can be little things or big things like interacting with new people that can help your business, Asking for guidance, getting rid of the things that are holding you back, even purchasing that one expensive thing that although it costs it will help your business grow! Just do it! Do it smart but do it!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an licensed Aesthetician for 7 years now and I’ve been the CEO of Skinfluence Miami for about a year. I believe what sets me apart from others is my passion for what I do. I truly can’t get enough about skin health and being able to help people feel confident in THEIR own skin. I am so proud that I have never taken the easy route for anything in life including my business I’ve grown everything organically and have made beautiful relationships with all my clients. No journey is 100% easy! There’s a lot of rollercoasters you have to ride in life and you ride them until you go back home. I’ve overcame all of my challenges because although I may have not known it God has always been on my side allowing me to get through my toughest battles and because my family raised us to never give up even when you go through hardships, even when people let you down and even when you feel like there’s no getting out. I’m glad I’ve been able to realize only at 25 that everything I’ve been through good and bad has been for a reason and it was to make me who I am today. The best lesson I’ve learned is to never let your shine dim for anyone or anything & that nothing lasts forever. I want the world to know that SFM is going to be an empire but aslong as I’m the boss it’s always going to be genuine and warm hearted.. we will care for you and your feeling AND your skin like no other!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So I’m from Miami baby! 305 is the place to be but for me it’s the place to EAT lol! I’m a pretty chill girl so for me I would take my bestfriend food hopping and walking all of the beach. My fav place to eat was Maska in Midtown but I believe they closed down 🙁 best Indian food ever and it was so lowkey… the drinks were amazing aswell!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, all praise and glory goes to God who has blessed me with the family and friends I have and for allowing me to follow my dreams every single day. My family ofcourse is my foundation, they have pushed me to my limits only to make me better and because they know my potential! Without them I would absolutely NOT be here! There’s so many people to thank because I’ve had the chance to really get to know amazing people that truly have taught me about skin health and how to help heal it. I’ve also had and still do have friends that are bosses and they’ve motivated me so much to strive to do exactly what I put my mind into. So thankful, no journey is done alone. I’m forever grateful for them all.
