We had the good fortune of connecting with Anoushka Channe Dannin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anoushka, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I have always been the risk adverse type. I never wanted to do anything out of the norm. I was by the book for most of my life. The first big risk I took was taking my first trip to NYC by myself at age 19 to go on a second date with a random guy I met in Florida. That random guy is now my husband. Always go with your gut. The second biggest risk I’ve taken was at age 39. I decided to give entreprenuership a try in an industry that I previously made fun of all because the opportunity made sense and I fell inlove with the products. I am a successful leader in the company after just 2 years with an amazing team of people who’s lives, like mine, have been impacted in so many ways for the better. I have found my passion and have never felt so fulfilled and driven. It would not have happened if I had not taken that chance and given something new a try. When a door opens, walk throught it.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I work as a Clean Beauty Influencer for Monat Global. I sell naturally based hair and skin care in 5 countries. Monat is only 5 years old and is already a billion dollar company. The culture here is like no other I’ve encountered. It is a truly amazing company that encourages gratitude and leadership, Best part is it is based out of Miami. After 2 years, I am in a leadership role building my business as well as mentoring others to do the same. I had no prior experience in this industry, but I overcame that obstacle with all of the support I was given by my team the moment I joined. People are very judgemental about Direct Sales. It was very hard at first to not get discouraged by that. Even my closest friends were not very supportive of my decision. I had to learn to not let others opinions determine how I live my life. Good thing, because lots of great things have happened to me since. I have paid off my student loans. I qualified as an Emerging Founder in the company. I go on all expense paid vacations. I help support my retired parents. I can invest again monthly into my future. Something I stopped doing as soon as I became a stay at home mom. I have an amazing community I could not live without. I have more confidence in myself. I am an entrepreneur. This is just the beginning.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Living in Vegas, where do you begin? 1- The seven magic mountains. It is a very cool art installation in the middle of nowhere. There is a mini version in Miami. 2. We must eat at Mon Ami Gabi on the patio with views of the Bellagio water show. 3. A dinner show at Mayfair Supper Club in the Bellagio 4. A hike near my house – so many cool trails 5. Shopping at Crystals – maybe more window shopping but still lol 6. Drinks at Mr Coco in the Palms Hotel – very VIP and cocktails are magnificent 7. Dont judge me, but we would definately hit up the Magic Mike Show
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The love and support of my husband has been the key to my success. You always need someone in your corner at home. That makes work life balance easier. My amazing mentor, Connie Sanchez, has shown me that I can be leader. I am a better person because of her friendship, presence and motivation. My amazing sisters have always had my back. I could not do life without them.
