We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Raphael Escoboza and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony Raphael, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After graduating from Florida Atlantic University in 2018, I knew I wanted to gain skills that would help me run my own business one day. Sales stood out as essential, so I took a sales account management position at a logistics software company. While I valued the experience and learned a lot, I soon realized the logistics industry didn’t align with my passions, and I started thinking about a new direction.

In late 2019, I decided to pursue something more meaningful to me personally—a deeper religious and spiritual journey. I enrolled full-time in a yeshiva, a Jewish institution focused on studying moral and ethical values. It was a big leap, especially since I was relying on my savings, which seemed unconventional to many of my peers.

During my time at yeshiva, COVID-19 hit, and like many, I began rethinking my financial future. At the same time, I had built a Jewish meme page called Dank Jewish, which had grown into a community and introduced me to Jewish organizations that wanted to collaborate. They offered me freelance consulting and marketing gigs, and I realized my experience in social media and community building was a valuable asset.

By early 2022, I took the leap to turn my freelance gigs into a business and founded Esco Media Group LLC. Shortly after, I signed my first large, multimillion-dollar client, which was a huge milestone and validated the risk I’d taken. Since then, I’ve grown Esco Media Group into a full-service digital marketing agency with a dedicated team, serving clients across multiple industries in areas like digital marketing, website design, and consulting. Each step along the way has reinforced my commitment to creating a business that’s not only successful but personally fulfilling.

What should our readers know about your business?
Esco Media Group is a digital marketing agency that helps small to mid-sized businesses grow with personalized services like web design, SEO, PPC, social media marketing, and business consulting. What sets us apart is our focus on building trust and understanding each client’s unique needs.

After transitioning from a sales career to yeshiva, I used my social media experience to launch the agency. The challenges of moving from freelancing to running a business taught me the value of resilience, relationships, and continuous learning.

Esco Media Group is more than just an agency; we’re partners in our clients’ long-term success. Our genuine care and commitment to growth set us apart.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My brother, who’s also my best friend, lives in South Florida, so we know the go-to spots. But if you’re visiting Miami, there are a few spots I’d definitely recommend. Key Biscayne has some of the best beaches with great views of downtown. You can also check out Vizcaya Gardens in Coconut Grove for a peaceful escape with beautiful architecture and gardens. Wynwood is great for street art and murals, and for shopping, Aventura Mall and Brickell City Centre are both solid options. For food, Sexy Fish is a fun spot, and if you’re looking for something kosher, Neya is a good choice. To wrap up the night, Los Altos speakeasy offers a cool vibe, or you could check out one of the candlelight concerts for something a little different.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many incredible people and institutions that have supported and influenced my journey. Early on, Cuong Huynh, the founder of the Enlightened Initiative leadership program, played a pivotal role as a mentor. Through his guidance, I gained essential skills in leadership and personal growth. Katia Flemens was also instrumental in my journey, helping me enter the Enlightened Initiative program, which opened doors to new opportunities and connections.
During my time at FAU, Rabbi Goldstein and Rabbi Liberow offered me spiritual guidance and a strong sense of community, which was invaluable. Their mentorship helped me reconnect with my roots and grow both personally and spiritually. Later, my experience at Sh’or Yoshuv Yeshiva deepened this journey, giving me a solid foundation in both personal and spiritual development.
After my time at Yeshiva, Jamie Geller provided key opportunities to work with Aish HaTorah, which played a significant role in helping me transition into starting Esco Media Group. Her support and leadership were instrumental in opening doors for me. Rabbi Tzvi Gluckin, the content coordinator at Aish, was also someone I worked closely with, offering valuable insights and inspiration.
At FAU, Bryan Rammel, the vice president of the American Marketing Association while I was president, played a major role in the success of the organization. His leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to the Boca Raton community have been incredibly inspiring. His influence in both business and community leadership is something I continue to admire.
My friends Gidon Levy, Shlomo Rivkin, and Fernando Crespo, who are also entrepreneurs, have been constant sources of encouragement and shared insights from their own journeys. Honorary Consul General Yoram Naor has guided me in international business and diplomacy, helping me navigate complex business relationships. Spiritually, the Biala Rebbe has had a meaningful influence, and Rabbi Chay Amar, who has been a recent guiding light, has continued to provide me with spiritual guidance and inspiration as I move forward.
Above all, my family—including my father, mother, brother, aunts, uncles, and cousins—have been a vital source of support throughout my journey. Their unwavering love, encouragement, and guidance have been an essential element to who I am today and continue to fuel my drive to succeed. Most importantly, I thank God for everything He’s done for me and for the opportunities He has provided to bring light to this world through my own journey.
Each of these people and institutions has left a unique mark on my journey, and I am deeply grateful for their support, wisdom, and encouragement along the way.
