We had the good fortune of connecting with Bossa Fusion Duo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bossa Fusion, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Only those who have the courage to expose themselves, to take risks, have their lives in their hands, being free to make their own choices.

You always have to take risks to try something new. You have to believe in yourself and keep doing what you love in life, it takes time, dedication, perseverance and resilience, until it works out the way you dream about it, having in mind that you are already living your dream in your attempts, failures and successes.

The Music career is in itself a lonely process, spending all your lifetime learning how to play an instrument, improving techniques and finding your place in the music business. It takes many kinds of risks, familiar, cultural, emotional, financial risks.

In our case, we had to leave our home, our country, gigs, family and friends, to start an international journey in our musical life in order to innovate and surpass ourselves.

“There are those who fight many days, and that’s why they are very good; There are those who fight for years, and they are even better; But there are those who fight all their lives, these are the essential ones”. Bertolt Brecht

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
About us, we’ve been playing together for almost 17 years and here in the USA we developed a Duo that sounds like a quartet, for real 🙂 Tomati plays the chords & bass, he knows the Brazilian’s grooves a lot 🙂 I sing and play percussion, the Bossa & Samba’s grooves.
It’s really unique & quality of excellence! Portfolio & Social Medias below,, we do Live Streaming every Saturday so you can find plenty of actual Live videos in our channels:

“A World-Class Musicians Duo plays Brazilian Bossa Nova and World’s famous themes in a unique style. Dedicated to Brazilian Music and to the Fusion of styles such as Jazz, Bossa Nova & Samba, the couple of artists makes a modern and elegant Brazilian Vibe. The Duo has different sizes of presentations: Duo, Trio, Band, w/ the contribution of great musicians.

Now living in Miami since 2020, they perform weekly at the Magic City! The audience can find them at Festivals and Modern Jazz Venues. Brazilians, yes, but above all, from the World!

Carlos Tomati – Classical & Electric guitar: Rhythm, lead, solo, bass, whistle.
Michelle Spinelli – Vocals and Shaker: Lyrics, poetry, scat singing, percussion and dance.

“High level of excellence in Music & Art mixed with the mood of a Fusion environment created by Tomati’s electric guitar in heart touching Jazz harmonies, sometimes unusual in Bossa Nova and Samba and the unique crystal clear voice of Michelle Spinelli making the exquisite lyrics and melodies, sound extremely easy listening and natural to the audience.

The show has arrangements of Tomati, a Wizard of Sounds who has graduated from the Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, California in 1987 and was the guitarist of the most famous talk show in Brazil for more than 15 years.

They perform in Duo, Trio, Quartets, Quintets or even with Big Bands and Orchestras, always with the contribution of great musicians, Sound Engineers, Producers. The perfect size and mood for each Event. It originates from Brazil but incorporates a world sound. They create a musical language that is universal to all!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many thanks that it would not be fair to mention some names among all those we are grateful for, we would certainly forget some very important names.

Our feeling of gratitude ranges from our musical influences to those who invested what they could to give us better opportunities in life and in Music.

Our family and friends.

The guys who started Bossa Nova, João Gilberto, Tom Jobim and their friends Frank Sinatra, Stan Getz, who through their love for the musical style collaborated and still collaborate, through their majestic recordings, with its dissemination around the world and with the fusion of the style with Jazz.
