We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian Yodice and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brian, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always had a vision of owning my own practice. After working as an associate for about a year, I realized that was not where I wanted to be and felt I could improve the patient/client experience while providing the financial and lifestyle benefits I wanted. Owning my own business would allow me the freedom to make the decisions necessary to develop a patient centered practice and establish a quality of life supported by my business not controlled by it.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The vision for Collaborative Chiropractic is: Influence healthy lifestyles.
We believe that movement is the foundation of a healthy lifestyle and it is our mission to be the guide. Striving to help our patients, clients, and our community members make better lifestyle choices, Collaborative Chiropractic was created and designed around an innovative approach of state of the art evaluation procedures and a combination of traditional conservative chiropractic techniques, massage therapy, therapeutic exercise and nutrition. This modern approach brings together the combined effort of multiple disciplines to restore and improve poor mobility, flexibility and strength, optimizing the body’s function and conditioning to perform at any level you want to achieve.
Personally, I am passionate about helping athletes with injuries return to their peak performance. When athletes experience traumatic injury, it’s not uncommon that it brings their active competitive lifestyle to a screeching halt. They often feel frustrated and worried that they won’t be able to play again. Maybe they’ll lose a scholarship, professional financial gains, or not meet the goals they have spent weeks, months or even years trying to accomplish. The greatest success is bringing athletes suffering the consequences of their injuries back to the performance they are accustomed. I bring a level of compassion and understanding to care, because I have experienced my own sports injuries.
By defining an athlete as an active person, we are innovating the approach of the traditional healthcare model. It is an alternative to symptom based care focused on medications and invasive procedures. Chiropractic adjusting techniques are used to restore movement to the spine and joints of the body. Exercise and stretching improve strength and stability of movement, optimizing the body’s function and conditioning to perform at any level you want to achieve.
The greatest challenge is educating our clients and the community to invest in themselves, so they can live a life of vitality and fitness. Helping them make the choices and develop the routines to support an active lifestyle.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
New to Westchester with access to NYC and CT, having grown up and spent most of my life on Long Island, I am still exploring. New Canaan, CT has great restaurants and is a great walking town local to where I live but, the river towns have spectacular views, trails to explore and restaurants for eating and drinking. A bike ride, hike to picnic in Bear Mountain State Park would be on the list for a more active day. Nothing beats a train ride into NYC, walking through Central Park, Times Square, taking in a Broadway show and experiencing The Village for a chill bite to eat and a drink.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Choosing one individual, group, or organization to dedicate my success is difficult. I have had so many guides in my life that have taken the form of teachers, coaches, professional mentors, friends, and colleagues, but I always consider the foundation of everything I do coming from the love and support I gained from my family. That is where my values were developed. The values I carry with me and use to build my business. I am grateful for the opportunities my parents provided for me and I challenge myself every day to capitalize on those opportunities and show appreciation for the sacrifices they made to provide those opportunities.
