We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna Watts and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brianna, how do you think about risk?
I think risk is necessary for success in life. Risk is required growth and to learn what you might not learn otherwise or at the time that you may need to. Risk is both a challenge and rewarding. Sometimes you have to take risks to get on the path that is aligned with your destiny. Risk taking has played a major role in my life and career, especially recently. I took a huge risk in 2020 by walking away from my 8-5 to pursue my dreams during the height of a world crisis in 2020. I was just getting started in my career as a Higher Education professional, but I knew there was more for me to tap into and share with the world. I carefully and prayerfully took the necessary steps to walk away from my salaried position. Entrepreneurship can be scary, challenging, and it doesn’t guarantee success, but I took the leap of faith anyway.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a serial entrepreneur; I oversee and operate a few businesses and projects. The first is my career and business consulting company, Brianna Watts Consulting and Services. Primarily, I am a résumé writer and career coach. The results I generate after creating career documents for my clients are $20K salary increases, placing clients in new tax brackets, successful career pivots, promotions, higher roles, and strong interview skills. I also stand as the current President and Founder of a nonprofit, Watts Academy of Success Inc. (W.A.S.) I founded W.A.S. to provide mentoring and leadership services to young ladies ages 12-19 in Central Florida. I recently started a podcast called Thee Breeprint Podcast which is a career, personal, and professional development podcast. It’s like college in audio form. I will provide episodes within those 3 areas from guest experts and myself. The goal is for listeners to walk away with knowledge and education that they can apply to their lives. Additionally, I manage a clothing store called KIT or Keep it Tight that provides exclusive men’s, children, and women’s clothing in the Central Florida Area. None of it is easy but I definitely love all that I do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
TO BRUNCHHHHHHH lol I love a good and LIT brunch/day party type of weekend. We would definitely hit the hookah lounge with the best music in the city on a Friday night to kick off the weekend. On Saturday we’re going to a day party that starts in the afternoon and goes all the way until the night and on Sunday we are going to a lit brunch party! I think Houston, TX is one of the best cities to visit for AMAZING FOOD AND GOOD VIBES! You are certain to have a blast in Houston and have a good time at any venue that has DJ lol   The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people to credit, honor, and recognize. I’d like to start with my family and friends near and far! They keep me encouraged and they have always been there to support me emotionally, financially, and they continue to show up for me in ALL ways, whenever I need them. Secondly, I’d like to thank Tatum Tamia of the Blessed and Bossed up podcast who led me to my business coach. After listening to her podcast for almost three years, I hired her former business coach as my business coach. I want to thank Raevyn Hokett for her knowledge, wisdom, prayers, and guidance. She used to specialize in helping individual entrepreneurs quit their jobs and never look back. Then, I’d like to thank my mentor/résumé writing coach and the Society of Elite Résumé Writers. I would be so lost without their knowledge, accountability, and support! I’d also like to thank Maggie Gaines and Bright Light Consulting. She serves as my nonprofit coach & consult. She is BOMB AND SO KNOWLEDGEABLE when it comes to helping nonprofits start up and attain success beyond the startup phase. She definitely made it so much easier to start and establish my nonprofit. I can’t thank her enough.
