We had the good fortune of connecting with Caroline Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Caroline, what inspires you?
I’m truly inspired by those striving to reach their full potential. I think it is so inspiring to watch someone work hard, learn, adapt, persevere and truly achieve greatness. From an athlete dedicating themself to their sport to a teacher going above and beyond to not just educate, but really make a difference in a student’s life, I find inspiration in so many different places.
What should our readers know about your business?
The Florida Collaborative Law Group is a family-focused law firm helping families with their divorce, paternity and post-judgment family law matters. We not only promote and practice collaborative law at the firm, we also believe wholeheartedly in the collaborative process for our clients. Collaborative cases take a team approach to a family law matter and everyone involved has committed to be transparent and to work together to reach an amicable, solution-based resolution for the parties. I am most excited about spreading the word about the collaborative process to families to help keep them out of court, which can take a toll on co-parenting relationships and can be a very stressful experience.
I’ve handled litigation cases for the majority of my career and I have learned so many lessons along the way. One of the biggest ones I’ve learned is that when it comes to families, the sooner you can find a fair and reasonable resolution for the parties, the better. We try to handle family matters efficiently for our clients and hope to help them find a resolution to whatever they are going through so that they can move on from the experience. My favorite part of my job is when a former client checks in and I get to hear about how wonderful they’re doing now — I want that for all of my clients.
I’ve learned that running a firm takes a lot of hard work, but that work is extremely rewarding. People come to us in a time of need and it is truly a blessing to get to help them through it.
For both myself and our firm, we strive to do excellent work with integrity. We don’t shortcut or cut corners. We will always go above and beyond for our clients in an ethical and professional manner. Our clients are important to us and we care about them.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would have to go to the beach as often as possible because the beach is my favorite part about living in South Florida. If they’re staying for a week, they’ll catch many baseball and soccer games the kids are playing at the beautiful parks all over the place. We would work out at Beast Fitness because it’s my favorite gym. After we worked hard, we would go to Cabana El Ray on Atlantic Ave. for dinner, but mostly for one or two of their delicious mojitos. Lastly, we’d pack up for the weekend to head to the Keys where we would rent jet skis, go to dinner at Lorelei’s and have many lunches at Sunset Grille by the 7-mile bridge.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My partners, Christen Ritchey and Joel Feldman. I couldn’t have done this without them. We truly are a team. I’m so proud of the firms we’ve built together (Johnson, Ritchey & Feldman P.A. and Florida Collaborative Law Group).
