We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Spruill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamie, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk is a word that I find that is incredibly subjective. For most, it involves taking a major leap for something that can be life altering in some sense. For others, it may involve taking a small step that will lead to larger steps for the direction of success or life that they may want for themselves or others. For myself it involves both. Three years ago, I took a large risk when I decided to start my own business, with little experience. This was a huge bet on myself! Currently, I take smaller risks, but these, partnered with persistence, will lead to the success that I would like to achieve. These smaller risks include everything from cold-messaging influencers, athletes, etc for partnerships to even seeking advice from other business owners. I knew that if I truly wanted to change my life and career for the better, I would have to make changes and completely step out of my comfort zone. Thankfully due to these smaller outreach risks that I have been taking for my career, they have transitioned into my personal life as well. I love the phrase “persistence is key” because I have become confident in my future success as long as I continue taking risks (large and small)!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Amìle (pronounced Ah-mih-lay) began as a handmade leather goods company but has transitioned into a fashion brand. I was no longer passionate about creating leather goods and became more passionate about clothing (as I always have). In addition to be frustrated with the quality, styling, and price of clothing that was being produced, I decided to make a transition. I wanted to create products for men and women that would not only be comfortable to wear regardless of the occasion, but also cost efficient for everyone. Our products are released every few months and in very limited quantities! Our products match the quality and fabrics of many of the large fashion houses, but are much more affordable. Sometimes the smallest details can drastically set you a part from the crowd. I am always looking for brand ambassadors/content creators (of all genders, shapes, sizes, ages, and #’s of followers) to represent the Amìle brand. If you’re interested in joining our team, message us on Instagram (we love paying commission)! Our team is always looking to expand! Whether you grab an Amìle piece or if you see someone wearing one of our pieces, take a picture and send it to us! Stay on the lookout for our next releases!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Naming everything would be impossible, but we can list a few things to do! I would definitely take them to quite a few stereotypical tourist spots. We will head to Bayside, South Pointe Pier, LIV/Story, Gianni’s, Key Biscayne, Wynwood, Las Olas, Everglades, Bal Harbour Shops, and definitely have them tour Miami from the sky with South Beach Helicopters!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to a few people that have influenced me. My mother, mentor, and friends that have been an incredible support system!
