We had the good fortune of connecting with Chicky Lulu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chicky, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Balance has been the most challenging part of my journey. I was so focused on making myself a well known brand that I forgot about ME. And yes I understand some sacrifices had to be made in order to grow, but i took things to an extreme and forgot about my well being and how important taking care of me and my family was. In order to find that balance I had to first learn how to be responsible and organized but most of all be consistent.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an event creator, party host and now a YouTube creator. I know as much as it all sounds like we are all doing the same the one thing that will set me apart from others is that I can honestly say I do this for LOVE. I have been blessed enough to do this because I love to help others. I love to entertain and express my creativity through social media. I started to use my following to promote other artist and business in the community. What started as a party promoter turned into a full time job helping others grow. From dentist office to car dealerships and even construction companies the list kept growing. It was not easy to have other trust me to help them with marketing and I had to work for free for almost 2 years. I learned to trust the process and to keep going no matter how many times they said no. My slogan is always say Chicky at the Door!! And I want everyone to remember that if chicky referred you chicky will always take care of you!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
