We had the good fortune of connecting with Dalil Chehboune and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dalil, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Since I was a child, I always wanted to create something and have a positive impact on the society. During high school, I started thinking about the areas that interest me and about things that I could do to express myself. I therefore stated experiencing multiple things to figure out what path I should take. Few years ago when I moved to the Los angeles I started modeling, the fashion industry gave me that drive and I decided to give it a try by creating my own brand.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe that what sets me apart from others is the fact that I dont give up. I don’t think I have anything more than others but dreams. I believe that life is a game where we are supposed to realize our biggest dreams and that is what drives me through it. I got to where I am through work, visualisation and faith. It was not easy because of my heavy background but I decided to leave the past behind and just focus on the future. The biggest lesson I learned is that nothing in life is impossible if we believe in ourselves. I want the world to know that what I do through my job and my work is meant to proof that no matter who you are and where you came from, you can be who ever you want to be and do whatever you want to do.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friends were visiting the area, I would take them to have lunch in Smith and Wollensky in south point park. The amazing view on fisher island and miami downtown from there is just amazing. I would then show them the amazing art deco district with the beautiful versace mansion. In the evening I would take them to downtown through macArthur Causeway where they can contemplate the miami skyline to finish in club space which I consider the best club in the world.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The people who helped me a lot with my carrier were two friends. The first person is Alisha Kabdrash who encouraged me to get into modeling and helped me get my first fashion show. The other person is John Walpole who mentored me and convinced me to take the plunge and start creating my own brand. These two people believe in me and through their actions had a big impact in my life.
