We had the good fortune of connecting with Davina Baptiste and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Davina, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Becoming a wellness coach was never on my list of things to do in the past. I loved makeup and art and thought that was my calling. However, about 5 years ago, I decided I needed to begin taking care of my health. I was overweight a literally sick and tired every day. I began my wellness journey and it was the best thing I ever did. I shed over 50 pounds and gained a more positive outlook on life. Fast forward to early 2020, I was browsing the internet one day and saw an ad that said “become and wellness coach, ” and was immediately drawn to the idea of helping other women do what I did. I prayed and gave it much thought and began my training shortly after. I started my practice in July 2020 and it’s brought me so much joy and fulfillment being able to fill a gap I saw when it comes to women’s wellness using a holistic approach.
What should our readers know about your business?
Wellness with Davina B. was birthed out of a deep desire and passion to help women feel their absolute best through good nutrition, stress management, a healthy mindset, movement, education, self-discovery, self-care, and my unwavering support. I feel so blessed to have helped dozens of women feel great again!
Being someone who struggled with weight and body issues in the past, I knew this was important work that needed to be done. It’s by no means easy as I constantly have to remain agile and pivot when needed, especially during these challenging times. I just try to remain positive and open-minded as I know this is my purpose and because many women need help.
My approach is a rounded one and as a result of my women’s wellness coaching programs, protocols, and courses, my clients:
Naturally, overcome the life-disrupting symptoms of hormone imbalances like trouble losing weight, fatigue, PMS, painful periods, PCOS, fibroids, thyroid issues, sleeplessness, low libido, and more.
Connect with themselves on a deeper level and learn true nourishment, not just for their bodies, but their mind and spirit.
Transform their lives by learning how to create healthier lifestyles where they feel more vibrant, happy, and confident.
I am looking for women who are ready to take charge of their health and wellness, connect with themselves in a meaningful way so can start living the amazing life they deserve, and overcome their hormone imbalance symptoms so they can feel fearless and fabulous! All you need to get started is a smartphone or tablet, an internet connection, and the willingness to commit to the process.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Federation of St. Kitts & Nevis is small, but we have a very rich history and stunning landscape. I would recommend a full island tour because there are many beautiful historical sites to see like the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, as well as Romney Manor where handmade batik is created. We have stunning black sand beaches and a lush rain forest and if you fancy a bit of adventure, you can hike Mount Liamuiga. We also have a fantastic food and beverage scene. I’m a pretty chill person and love casual “limin” (Kittitian slang for hanging out) spots like Shipwreck Beach Bar & Grill. Their “Pirate’s Rum Punch” is the best!!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank my friend, life coach, and storyteller Vikiesh Pickering of Vikreation.Inspire. She always encourages me to go after my dreams. When I said I was thinking about becoming a wellness coach, her words were, “go for it!” She was also my very first client when I began my practice. She trusted me and the process, committed to her program, and was successful in transforming her life.
