We had the good fortune of connecting with Denise Clarke and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Denise, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Making movies is all about taking risks. Creating art is all about taking risks. Being happy and following your dreams is all about taking risks. That’s why artists are so special and inspiring.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our business is entitled The Storyteller Shoppe LLC and is a multimedia production studio with potential growth as a store front. Our goal is to publish and produce enough books, film, and murals to open a store where fellow creatives can come and complete their projects as well. Our non-profit department would train orphans and foster children how to channel their emotions into creativity in order to heal and prosper as individuals through coaching and health practices. Our brand is the inner child & hero within. We got to where we are today by following our joy and the path of least resistance. The challenges we have faced are natural disasters like COVID-19, Hurricane Helene, and Hurricane Milton amongst other challenges like anxiety, depression, and ADHD. We have overcome them by not allowing these challenges to define us, but instead feel a sense of excitement towards overcoming them. Growth and persistence are values we believe in. Challenges are a sign that we are on the brink of new beginnings with elevated understandings. We’d love for the world to know our stories and feel inspired by watching our films, reading our books, enjoying our paintings, and pursuing their dreams.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take visitors onto a paddle boat ride in my father’s backyard canal where we can pick fresh bananas, but mind the alligators! We would go shark teeth hunting at the beach, and drink herbal infused coffees and teas at Downtown Kava Cafe’. We could grab a slice of brick oven gluten free vegan pizza at Pizza Gorda. Then we could go dolphin watching in front of the sunset at the harbor along the Gulf. There is much more to see and do, but these are my favorite hidden local treasures.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many who deserve recognition in my story. My best friends are my sisters and they have always supported me. My brothers have been my protectors. My mother was my inspiration. My father is a lending hand. My children are my beacons of light. My husband is my strength and humility. My closest friends are my angels. They have all guided me towards the light.
