We had the good fortune of connecting with DP Rilla and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi DP Rilla, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Whenever doubt comes creeping up on me and for a second I think about quitting. Something or someone comes around and reminds me of why I do it and I automatically get this burst of energy and motivation to keep going.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As previous stated in my interview with you guys I make music to inspire and influence people in a positive way. Due to my past trauma in 2016 with my Mother being away for almost a year and my Father never being in the picture, I had to learn how to be independent on my own. That has transpired into my music which is why I’m very self sufficent. I’m proud of the fact that I have been able to tell my story through my music while maintaining authenticity. I think being real is an important factor in life.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Someone close to me recently took me biking in Fort Lauderdale and it was such a vibe. I felt really inspired biking through the trail, the sun blazing on my skin with a slight windy breeze I can’t wait to go back. I also like going to Vista View park to workout and going to Power Smoothie right after for their coco crazy smoothie.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ll like to shoutout God first and for most for always looking out for me after that it’s a list of too many names to count. I would say at the top of that list is my mother and my dog “Princess” she’s always in the studio with me so she deserves a lot of credit!
