We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Lisa Palmer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Lisa, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The 3 P’s. Passion, purpose, and productivity. Passion helps you live from the heart, develop the skills you need, take necessary risks, and see failures as steppingstones to success. Purpose gives you a reason for working hard and making it all worth it. It has to be something greater than yourself, something you offer to the world to make it better. Productivity is how you consistently manifest the expression of your skills and abilities with an unstoppable mindset, utilizing your strengths and resources, being a creative thinker, and taking every opportunity and making it into a gem. Success begins within you!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
People don’t often see how you get there, just that you get there! Who you are is really important on that journey, because it’s who you are that makes everything you do sparkle. No, you are not your titles, your trophies, your photographs, your social media. There are a million people who are better than you in a million different areas. But you are as unique as your individual fingerprints and your voice matters! I am and always will be a half-Dominican, half-Italian American girl from the small state of Rhode Island, and an only child of hard working immigrant parents who gave me a solid foundation. I never considered myself to be special. I am not the smartest, the prettiest, or the richest. Life always kept me humble. I was given many different experiences along the way so that relate to and heal those with traumas who feel unworthy, not good enough, and hopeless. Being an outsider, I too wasn’t treated fairly more times than I can remember, but with every loss, there were also many more gains. You have to keep rising up after the falls, and that is the part few will see about you. As for me, my purpose is that thing in my soul that picks me up and keeps moving forward. My purpose makes life worth living. A good philosophy is key. I believe we are given obstacles to overcome them, and that your past does not have to define your future. You are the author of your own experience. You are the CEO of your life. Anything you want to manifest begins within you! Yes, experiences can break you, but when the broken live on and reclaim and renew themselves amazing things happen. In my opinion, any great brand begins with the energy of the founder. So, whatever you are doing in life personally or professionally, put your soul into it, put your fingerprints all over it, follow your passion. Be authentic and unapologetically you. Live it, breathe it, believe it!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, I have to admit I am a much better guest than I am a host, but there are always interesting events I’m invited to, and so my guests would go along for the ride! Since I live life kind of spontaneously you never know where you will end up and what interesting movers and shakers you might meet. Perhaps a producer, actor, politician, founder of a brand, artist, best-selling author, Miss USA, or maybe even an internationally known priest to give you a blessing! Hey, we all need a little blessing, right? As they say, everywhere you go there you are. In my book, fun isn’t necessarily a “place” but it’s wherever you are, and loving the people you are with! I love everything from classy to casual – from The Breakers on Palm Beach, to hip dining spots in the art district in Wynwood Miami. I’ve lived in many places, but Florida is a gem.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many incredible and talented people behind me to thank from former Senior Apple engineers developing the technology to bring my visions for RenewMe brand to life on iOS devices for corporate and hospitality brands, to the CEO of Newsmax, Christopher Ruddy who gave me my very first shot to appear on a national television channel after I walked away from television many years before to pursue my true purpose, to all the people who help me stay balanced behind-the-scenes so I can be the best version of myself. Most of all, I want to give a shoutout to all the patients who put their faith and belief in my abilities, and whose success and transformations have inspired me more than anything else in my entire life. It is an honor to heal people from PTSD and tough-to-beat problems, and turn their lives around like they had never imagined before. It is because of them that I am who I am today. They are the hope and inspiration behind RenewMe brand, which is dedicated to helping people live more balanced lives.
