Meet Dzanar Abbas-Zade | Digital Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dzanar Abbas-Zade and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dzanar, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
I always wanted to create my own path, not live according to someone else’s plan. Growing up with so little, coming here as a refugee, and watching my parents struggle and sacrifice just to give us a better future — it shaped me. It made me realize how precious time is, and that I owe it to them, and to myself, to do something meaningful with my life.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business and my art come straight from my life experience. I didn’t come from money or a perfect situation — I came from struggle. We moved as refugees, started over with nothing, and I had to figure out early that if I wanted something different, I had to build it myself. That’s what my work represents: creating your own world, even when everything around you says you can’t.
What sets me apart is that my art is real. It’s not made to impress — it’s made to connect. Every piece has a story, a fight, a dream behind it. I mix digital and physical worlds because I don’t like being put in a box — just like life, my art breaks boundaries.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. Nothing was handed to me. I had to deal with rejection, doubt, financial struggles, and moments where nothing seemed to move forward. But every time I hit a wall, I reminded myself why I started. I learned to find solutions instead of excuses. I learned to bet on myself when nobody else did.
The biggest lessons? Be patient but stay hungry. Take risks, even when you’re scared. Protect your vision, because nobody else will fight for it the way you can.
What I want the world to know is: I’m not just selling art. I’m sharing a mindset. A reminder that even if the odds are against you, your dreams are still real — and if you stay true to yourself and put in the work, they’re possible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Let’s go to Miami together with Sam
Feldt, Ultra festival. Then club e11even. Then fly with me Ibiza, grab one of the best steaks for lunch at Cala Gracioneta, call my buddy up Yoan, sip Tinto Verano at the beach. At night end up Pacha.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
⸻
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my family — especially my parents and my brother.
My father, who is an artist himself, taught me so much about life, art, people, and how to stay positive no matter what struggles come your way. He showed me that challenges are just lessons in disguise. My mother taught me the power of creating opportunities, even when you don’t see immediate results. She always encouraged me to believe that if there’s no clear path, you can build one yourself.
My brother played a big role too — he taught me how important it is to take risks and not be afraid to make bold moves to achieve what you want. He made me realize that if you dream big, you can achieve big. Like Walt Disney said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.”
Their love, lessons, and support gave me the foundation to chase my dreams fearlessly, and for that, I am forever grateful.
