Meet Edmanuel Font | DJ

We had the good fortune of connecting with Edmanuel Font and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Edmanuel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process of starting my own business, was the liberty of doing something that I was passionate about on my own time, and most importantly when I wanted to. I didn’t like the fact I would work a 9 to 5 job, sometimes more than 8 hours a day, come home tired and I didn’t have the energy to work on my craft or plan out my business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My craft is fusing songs together to create the right ambient vibe for others to enjoy & forget their problems. In short words, I’m a DJ. What sets me apart from other DJ’s from what I’ve been told and noticed is my authenticity in the way I mix music and MC. I rarely pre plan my sets and just go by the mood I’m in that day. When I’m behind the decks DJing it becomes an experience for me where I disconnect from reality and I become a hypnosis pilot in controlling the crowd, taking them on different journeys cruising through genres of music. From when I first started the journey like anything it is never easy, because I was to raw with little experience. Dealt with many first time business owner’s struggles. I believe mistakes are the best teachers if you keep an open mind, and that’s exactly how I was able to move forward and elevate my business. One of the lessons that I had to learn which I was not good at, was patience. There was many times when I questioned myself and this journey of music because I would get in my head. You pour so much in the beginning and you don’t see results. Patience, consistency, hard work, tunnel vision, sacrifices are the recipe for a fruitful garden in the future or business. I would like the world to know about me is that I am very passionate in what I do, and when I’m Djing for anyone it comes from the heart. My clients will always receive one hundred & ten percent from me and I always leave it all on the dance floor, venue, or wherever I’m Djing and that’s what we call being #FONTIFIED , (delivering the maximum experience).

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is tough, because I’m literally all over the place. One of my favorite spots is Wynwood. There is a spot that I enjoy a lot to get drinks and catch a good vibe of music and their set-up of the restaurant has to be Grails. They are very unique in the way they cater to the guest, it is very high energy , they even have C02 canons for birthday shout outs. For food, I would say The Fish Company in Isla Morada, FL. This is one of my favorite spots to go eat and enjoy the view with some island vibes. The wonderful thing about the Keys is that there is so much to do when you are out there, Jet Skiing, snorkeling, fishing, boat rides.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I really couldn’t just name one person in the success of my journey. It would really be unfair. I’ve been blessed to have a supporting village behind me. Definitely, I would have to start with the creator “God”, nothing is possible without him. Most importantly my family, wife, kids for always having my back from the jump. Also, one last important that I owe a big thank you for being an amazing instructor and mentor & patient with me , even though I would bother him endlessly with questions Marcel (DJ Zel), thank you!
