We had the good fortune of connecting with Evian Joseph and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Evian, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose a creative career because being creative is apart of my purpose. It is the most, I feel, natural flow of my life. Being creative is a gift and I dare not waste it. I feel to be truly happy In this experience we have to fully operate in our gifts and the closer I get to be authentically me I realize there is no other path for me. Being creative fuels my desire to be a better me and hone my craft I’m in the process.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I have learned many, many, many lessons. Lol. But I am grateful for them all. I have done life the way, I was taught, I’m supposed to and still was not fulfilled. Now, I do as I please. With love and light of course. I realize at the end of the day, I am the only person living MY life. Therefore, I have to fulfill my greatest desires and be the best me I can be for me! Not for anyone else.

I believe our greatest gifts are embedded in just being ourselves and no matter who or what tries to take you off your path, if you just stay true to who you are, you will be rewarded.

My business, not only involves a great interest of mine, but it is also my passion. Clothes are a way to express yourself and I feel I’m doing my part of expressing myself artistically by simply putting clothes together in a way that is aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

Becoming an “Eye Catcher” is a journey to self discovery. As you discover yourself, you learn blending in is the last thing you want to do. You are unique and different for a reason so why not honor yourself and dress the part.

Overcoming challenges in the daily grind of running a business is hard work. But it’s necessary to learn what’s for you is for you and it’s up to you to get it. It’s not about how many times you get knocked down, it’s about how many times you get up, because you never know how or when your dreams will become your reality.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take my friend to Wynwood. It’s exciting down there. It’s literally a free art museum, with great bars and restaurants. It’s alive with creative and fun energy. I wouldn’t go to any place I’ve tried because I like to try new things when the opportunity presents.
