We had the good fortune of connecting with Fernanda Scarafia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Fernanda, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Personally, the most important think to keep in mind (and spirit) is the passion. Sounds like a cliche, but the truest of truths. Over time, passion has been my only ally to keep my self oriented and not losing sense of purpose along my career. Sometimes, you feel the world is poorly prepared to receive and embrace poetry (visually and literally speaking) and you feel alone. But if you are passionate enough about creating, it’s impossible to give up… and at the end of the day, you’ll be consistent enough to reach more and more people the way you wish. And the best part: you’ll never stop.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I started very young by being really perfectionist. While time passed by I realized more and more that i was growing professionally but I didn’t have the wisdom to manage frustration, less to enjoy the process. There was a breaking point in which I realized I wasn’t immersed in the process anymore, but in the result, the potential success. No sense at all! From then on, I just try to focus more and more on having fun, believing on what I’m doing, find my own ways of expressing my self through my work and my creation.
If I could say something to that young perfectionist girl, it would be: just look at your creations like game-challenges, and when one is not completely won, just let go. Another one is coming.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My friend, José Manuel, who I started side to side with. Taught me so much. My boyfriend, who taught be about self confidence.
My dad, who always supported me and encouraged me to be the best.
My mom, who showed me what real perseverance is about.
Myself, for being capricious and goal-oriented
