We had the good fortune of connecting with Gio Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gio, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with this idea because I wanted to help people attain their travel goals. Often people set limits on themselves because they “don’t have the money” or “don’t have the time” , when realistically most simply just don’t know how to go about it while fitting their time and budget. This is what lead me to GTFO Trvl. I wanted to give people the “I WISH” experience in real life. At GTFO we cater to everyone, wether its a family vacation, couples getaway, bachelorette, birthday trip, whatever , we work with all of them making us a multi dimensional travel consulting company. We take care of the planning, start to finish, so all YOU have to do is pack!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets us apart as a travel consulting company is that we tailor every single itinerary specific to our client filling it with unique experiences and making it fit their exact travel style.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It all depends what they liked. I think Sugar rooftop is a must, it’s such a breath taking view of the city at night making it a super unique happy hour. My favorite hidden restaurant is meraki greek bistro, in an alley that transports you to greece for a few hours ! Best cocktails ? hands down broken shaker at the freehand. Lastly, for me Lagniappe is a vibe that simply cannot be replicated, Unless it’s Wednesday then you can definatley find me at Moxie’s Wine Wed, where all day bottles are half off!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We just did our first GTFO Group Trip for “Cinco de Gio” , we took 19 people with us to the beautiful Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. A HUGE shoutout to all of the people who took a leap and had faith in us to attend the first ever group trip! IT WAS AMAZING
