We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamiea Lawton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamiea, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was to work for myself. I thought about waking up every day working for myself and being happy and cheerful. Being able to say that I  am an entrepreneur / Ceo of my own business in addition to  being able to create my own schedule and to run things the way I want to. More of my thoughts would be with me having financial freedom and taking care of my family so that they don’t have to worry about anything, not having to worry if a job was going to fire me or not if I wasn’t good enough. The whole idea with having your own business there’s always room to grow and with PinkBougieBoutique It’s a boutique shop where I sell ; lip gloss, mini purses , rose water , shades and clothes. With me starting my first business I used to buy lip gloss so frequently to the point where my mother and I used to say why don’t I just make my own instead of buying it all the time.  So I decided that was going to be the first item I would start selling. With Glam Queen Studio this is my second business,  I do individual lashes,  me personally I love lashes and lip gloss that’s my everyday look. So I thought why not try to give others a glam look. Lashes add to your beauty; it doesn’t matter if they are very long or short. No matter what when you do add false lashes to your everyday look. It makes you feel different, for some it adds to their confidence.

What should our readers know about your business?

I am proud that I didn’t give up and I am very excited to see where I go from here. I plan on opening a shop with both of my businesses in the future. I’m going to make sure I work hard to get to where I want to be. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the grace of God. I was able to get where I am today in my business mainly by promoting my business as much as I can. Constantly practicing and not giving up during difficult times. And I’m still working on promoting more and practicing. I wouldn’t say it’s hard to keep going but it is challenging. I overcame some of my challenges by making a set schedule. Mainly time management helps with everything. One thing that I do if I go on any social media platform I make sure that I’m posting something related to my business. I’ve learned that when someone teaches you something don’t take it for granted even if someone is just trying to help you. I want the world to know that I’m growing every day and that I will try my hardest to provide the best service that I can.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were  to visit the area I would take her to the Beach In West Palm to look at the view and the Multi Millionaire houses. It’s very calming and encouraging. RH Rooftop Restaurant in West Palm, they have very good food and drinks. The scenery is very nice and elegant. They have a gallery of Athens and modern furniture to look at.Sugar Milk Boba & Dessert Bar. Their  ice cream is very good and it’s a fun place to be.
Satios is a nice Japanese restaurant where they cook in front of you. Some of the Chief’s do little tricks as well  and the food is great. The Sugar Factory is a great restaurant for food and their drinks are huge but also very good. GG Waterfront restaurant , the main thing here is their steak that’s the best thing to order from there.

Drive Shack, it’s a golf activity place and they also provide food and drinks.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank my Mother for supporting me first in everything I do. I’m very grateful that YouTube is around and this media helps me with everything, almost everything is on there to help us out. I have a mentor whose name is Mya. She’s the one that taught me how to do individual lashes. She also has a business called Nubianminks. I want to thank my family as well for letting me practice on them and giving me that extra confidence and love that I needed. Additionally I would like to thank  the few friends that allowed me to practice on them when I barely knew what I was doing. I want to thank my close friends for telling me to keep going and not to stop what I’m doing.
