Meet Jerome Abraham | Private Chef & Event caterer in Miami

Hi Jerome, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
What makes me happy is truly when my clients are satisfied with my services from start to finish. That means from the first email or call until the end of the experience. Seeing them enjoying my dishes and exceeding their expectations is the best feeling.

What should our readers know about your business?
I arrived in the US three years ago after spending 10 years in Honk-Kong. I started in New York and after visiting Miami for a weekend, I decided that this is where I wanted to be. I moved here in April 2022 and decided to open my Private chef business. It was very challenging to start this business without any connections as I only knew a few people in Miami. I had to start and do everything on my own from building the website, marketing strategy etc. After 2 months I got my first client and the work kept on coming. I just celebrated my first year and have a lot of repeat clients already that now trust me with their special occasions or just want to treat themselves to a nice dinner. I’m very proud of it and didn’t expect my first year to be so successful.
The challenge is to aim for better with bigger events and to keep the same quality and consistency. I’m so thankful for my clients and the trust they put in me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to dinner at Mila, the food and service are always perfect. I used to work there as an executive chef when I first came to Miami and I love showing my friends what a nice place it is. I would take them for drinks after to sweet liberty, the drinks are always good and the atmosphere is very chill. I would make sure we visit Wynwood, it’s such a cool area that developed quite quickly with many great art galleries, restaurants and bars.
If we have time, I like to escape to the keys to enjoy the island vibe and watersports.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I started cooking when I was 14 years old and have never stopped since. I became head chef at a young age when I was just 25 years old and I owe a big thank you to Jean Pierre Bure who trusted me with his restaurant. It’s been a long road and my first Boss Patrice Lopez is the one who gave me the love, passion and desire to pursue this career. Also, Olivier Brulard was one of the best chefs I worked with at the beginning of my career. I learned so much technically and was part of his team when we got 2 Michelin stars.
And of course, the encouragement of my family, love and close friends.
