Meet Karla Dascal | Chief Love Officer at Paradise Farms

We had the good fortune of connecting with Karla Dascal and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Karla, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Work-life balance has definitely changed over the years for me. My life used to be scheduled around work and commitments. Now, it is a dance between how I split my time and energy between my professional ventures and my personal life. It’s about finding a way to be fulfilled in my businesses while also having time for the things that are truly important outside of work, like my family, hobbies, leisure and relaxation.
The ideal work-life balance looks different for everyone. It depends on individual priorities and your season in life, but some of the benefits I have experienced after adjusting my own work-life balance are reduced stress, improved mental and physical health and more time for personal fulfillment and meaningful relationships.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work is to educate, It has been for a long time and it is something I love doing.Through Paradise Farms and its Foundation we have the responsibility and privilege to educate our community about the power of our ecosystem and how it is all integrated.
I like to say, “Nature is the ultimate technology” because I truly believe in the healing properties of being and working in nature. It is a different vibration.
I feel very excited about our upcoming season at Paradise Farms. As part of our offerings and due to the loyalty of our clients and community we are bringing back our CSA membership, along with the farmers markets, our line of culinary ferments and products and the always sold out farm tours that provide an ideal experience to understand and get familiar about regenerative farming, the soil and the food we eat. It is a great opportunity to be face to face with the people that visit out markets, taste our products and learn about them and our regenerative practices.
This upcoming season is also fueled by the “Dinners in Paradise” series presented by The Paradise Farms Foundation that we launched last April.I personally enjoy bringing together the community, the chefs and the food in a simple, yet amazing experience at the farm. It is great opportunity for people to support our mission while enjoying and having fun.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Everglades is a great place to learn about our ecosystem. The recently awarded Michelin restaurant “Entrenos”, where you get to enjoy their creative cuisine and our Paradise Farms produce.
If in town on a Saturday morning, definitely a must visit it is our booth at Legions Park Farmer’s Market to discover our staples of culinary products and our seasonal creations.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are many people who support my journey and evolution, from my family, my team and people who I get inspired by on a daily basis, one of them is Andi Potamkin and her passion to educate kids about permaculture gardening and regenerative practices for life.
