We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauran Meadow and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauran, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Success can be defined in various ways depending on the individual’s perspective. In my view, success is not solely about financial achievements but also about finding daily happiness that grounds you while propelling you forward. It’s what keeps you driven to applying yourself fully to the brand and its needs.

The success of Playa Bowls can be attributed to various factors, with a key emphasis on achieving the brand’s goal of providing a unique experience for consumers and an exceptional experience for the team. This strong group of individuals dedicated to improving the company and driving its growth plays a pivotal role in this success. By treating the company as their own and collaborating effectively, the team maximizes the utilization of all assets to achieve the best possible results. It is evident that without this cohesive and dedicated team, the success of Playa Bowls would not be possible.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am most excited about the growth that is happening in this brand. When I started as a 19 year old crew member, there were 3 corporate shops in Florida. Now, we have 8 shops in our franchise with another 80+ to come. The opportunities are endless as well as the development of Playa Bowls as a company.

I was lucky enough to meet our CEO Alexandra and partner Ricardo at the age of 19, and from there I grew with their first franchise shop opening. I was perusing and graduated with my Bachelors degree in Supervision and Management at the time. This was not a requirement, but benefited me with moving up in my career.

I would love for the world to know that hard work will pay off- regardless of age. Finding the people that make work not feel like work is the best feeling about my career. Hard times come and go, but having the right team makes the difference.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my best friend visits town, our first destination is Playa Bowls for a refreshing fresh-pressed juice. Our day involves lounging on the beach with a book in hand, scattered by casual food stops. As the day progresses, we find ourselves at the Hard Rock Casino, indulging in the excitement of slot machines, possibly exceeding our planned budget. We’ll cap off the day with a sweet treat from Jerimiah’s Italian Ice before calling it a night.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The recognition I must give, because without of them I would not be where I am today has to go to – first, my mom Nikki – the most supportive but honest women I know. Always giving me advice and watching me shoot for the stars, but never without a little needed humbling. Thank you for being the best parent and best friend.

Next, Alexandra, Ricardo, Cesar and Nicole – For not only providing me with my dream job at such a young age, but letting me have the freedom that you do. Supporting me in decisions that are made for the brand and being the best group I could ever work with and be apart of. Thank you, without you guys this means nothing (PB Dream Team forever).

To my Aunt and Uncle, thank you for being a part of my journey towards realizing my dreams. Pierce and Ryan, my brothers, thank you for your warm welcome and comforting hugs whenever I return home. Mitchell, your support, understanding, and motivation in helping me achieve my goals are truly appreciated. Your daily encouragement lifts a significant weight off my shoulders, and I am forever grateful.
Last, a sweet shoutout to my dogs for keeping me sane and always filling my heart with joy.
