Meet Ludiana Charles | Black Hairstylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ludiana Charles and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ludiana, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is patience. If you lack patience how do you expect things to work? When it comes to anything life, you have to put in the work and WAIT for things to workout. Patience teaches you discipline, it allows you to create something that speaks volumes. If I lacked patience, my success would not exist. You need patience in order to work with clients, you need patience in order to complete the task/ service at hand, patience is the key to unlock many doors.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Doing hair is an art. It allows me to express a feeling of happiness. I am able to show what I am capable of doing. I enjoy blessing crowns and I love the clients reaction when they’re done. I like to call it the “drip effect”. I started doing my own hair when I was younger and I use to practice on friends hair at age 11. From there It took off. There are some days where I feel depleted or sometimes the dealings aren’t as pleasant as one would hope. However, I never show it, gotta keep on moving and keep your game face on.
Being patient and kind will get you so far. I really do believe in the saying “first impressions matter” because in this profession you don’t get a second chance to show what you can do. I always put my best foot forward because it keeps the clients coming back.
I work with all hair types and care for my clients crown as I would do mine. I want everyone who sit in my seat to feel comfortable and continue being beautiful.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friend were visiting and I wanted to show them the greatest time, I would take them back to my home town. Fort pierce, Florida. I know many many think, well what is there to do there. I was born and raised there so I would take them to my favorite spots so that they could receive a glance of my childhood. We’d head to“Phatz”, they have bomb chicken and fries! I’m one with nature so I would take them to some nature walks so they could see the view and the beauty of it. We’d then head to my Joys ice cream. If I were to be down south, I would definitely take them to Little Haiti to see the art and share my culture with them. Have them try some Haitian food and I would be sure to take them to get some Haitian pate in Lauderdale!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My come up also falls on the backs of those apart of my support system. The people who constantly bend their backs for me, whether they realize it or not. For one, Temi, owner of beammeuptemi, got me this amazing opportunity and I am extremely grateful! Next are my friends, Wanda, Rose, Kira, Ashley are some to name and many more! These people provide me with the tools necessary to succeed. If only they knew how much I appreciate their support, their advice, their love, and so much more. My mom and my little sister Vicki keep me going as well, they give me a reason to work for. I also want to shoutout everyone else for sharing my work and booking with me, the support doesn’t go unrecognized!
