We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Angelo Razzo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael Angelo, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
First we knew we wouldn’t really be working for ourselves. We had sold our first salon and knew going into our second salon business that we would be teaching and growing this staff. We recruited students from the local cosmetology schools. We crates a culture where we worked with our employees. We work for the business as much as they do. We have stylist with us for 10 and 15 years. Some that were with us from the beginning have Gone on to be successful in their own right. Getting their core business foundation from us. The single most important contributions to our salon is to always hire new talent, keep education at the top and team, Values.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Let’s elaborate more on education. We have felt that this is what set us apart. In our area. Having the partnership with Loreal allowed us to send our Stylist to the Loreal Academy in Soho New York. And California. We also traveled to L’Oréal academies world wide and took chosen stylist with us. (Paris, Rome and Dublin to name a few cities ) Fun fact – We became a test salon for L’Oréal , which means we had the pleasure to play with products while they were in development stages. Was it easy, you ask nothing worth while is ever easy. We all face challenges everyday. They have to be met with grace and confidence, From that we have learned to go with the flow. In the end we would love to be remembered for our integrity and love for what this this industry brings to our world.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love south Florida, and love to show it off. Miami is just short of an hour drive for us. So that’s our first go to when we have a free day and need an adventure. South beach has the all favors of a cool city. At the same time you can walk a block and be on one of the worlds most sought after beaches. We love Lincoln rd mall the best when the antique mart is in town. Then we walk a few blocks to Espanola way where it feels so European. This is where dinner happens. So we sun, we shop, we eat, we drink. Closer to home, which is Boca Raton Mizner park would be the place to bring friends, go to the movies and have cocktails. After that. Wow, it would be our home. Family and friends in the yard enjoying the pool, and we are of Italian Dissent so we love to cook.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Knowing we needed help to create a mentoring salon, we went to the industry leaders, Summit salon business center. One of the founders of this company is Michael Cole. Now summit salon systems is powered by L’Oréal. Our L’Oréal professional partnership is the next reason we are who we are. Their support and education is Unparallel
