We had the good fortune of connecting with Milcho and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Milcho, how do you think about risk?
Living is Risky! People try to live a none risky life not realizing that everything we do is risky, we’re just doing the comfortably risky things… driving, walking down the street, stepping out of your house takes a risk… now why not take intentional risks and see what that feels like? Why not change the word Risk for “New Exciting Experiences” to take the edge off the word “Risk” and make it less threatening? That might help people step out of their comfort zone and be more curious. My risks are described as “MAXIMIZING MY HUMAN EXPERIENCE!” I’m my own experiment and think… “Dude, wouldn’t it be F*ing amazing if you did THAT?” and then I GO FOR IT! I’m intrigued with the pure experience of what it takes to get to that new place! Who I have to become to get to get there, what new tricks I have to learn and what part of me needs to be polished so that when I do… I show up as the best version of me. THAT”S A HUGE TURN ON! The work behind all of that! That’s the exciting part, it’s a lifestyle, either you do it or you don’t. If you DON”T then you just have to be ready to face your dreams on your death bed and apologize to them for as you all go to the grave together… Are you willing to do that to yourself?
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve gotten to be 49 years old and the only thing I’ve lost has been my hair, one tooth and my gallbladder all in the knowing that I’ve stayed true to what represents me the best creatively. Wildly proud of myself for that. At the moment my breath is being taken away by my beautiful new show “let’s Get Uncomfortable” which I shoot at the FAENA theater… it’s under my mental health brand Self Crush Project. Please please Check it out on Youtube and Instagram, there is so much intention, love and intensity behind this project born out of my obsession behind the need to have fascinating conversations about human behavior and emotions. What the hell are we thinking about when we do or not do? Ufff… don’t get me started! I think that the biggest challenge is to have the balls to do what feels right for you regardless of what the rest of the people EXPECT from you. People tend to reflect their fears on us casting doubt on our process… know the difference and don’t lose your north star. You don’t learn from others mistakes, we LEARN from OUR mistakes. I feel that most of the time we give up too soon and lose believe in ourselves. That’s the trick… being persistent, stubborned and obsessive… organized, clear and flexible to bend in different directions, a Ninja! Be kind to yourself and know when to catch and release… “Be open to everything and attached to nothing” like Wayne Dyer Says. Everything is Hard and that’s not new… You don’t ask for less problems, you ask for more ways to be efficient in solving those problems. Clean house as you go because more sh*t is on it’s way and you need to be organized to deal with the new sh*t graciously and not with the old Chaotically. BRO, CLEAN HOUSE AS YOU GO OR YOU’RE NEVER GONNA BE READY BECAUSE YOU’RE ALWAYS GONNA BE REPAIRING!!! Get up early, make your bed, journal, have outrageous goals, believe in the unbelievable, trust the universe, feel everything your body can feel at it’s maximum expression, be of service to everyone who needs assistance the minute you walk out of your house and don’t be a selfish ass hole. Repeat.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love love love being a tour guide! 1. Shark Valley-Nothing more exciting than riding your bike next to alligators that can potentially eat your new nikes. 2. Duck Tours-Who the hell doesn’t wanna ride a boat that drives on the street then floats on the bay with someone on a megaphone screaming “THAT’S WHERE GLORIA ESTEFAN LIVES” 3. PanIQ Room-Why panic for free when you can actually pay for it. 4. Miami Flying Trapeze-take two Advils for the post back injury and let’s GO! 5. Russian and Turkish Baths- Sounds gross but we all have to do it at least once, we owe it to our ancestors. 6. Mechanical Bull riding- Same instructions as #4 7. My “Gallinero” Apartment- Grace Jones, my one eye cat is waiting to host your visit.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate my shoutout to everyone I’ve come accrossed and everything that I have experienced since 1972.
