We had the good fortune of connecting with Monique Hayes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Monique, what do you attribute your success to?
I would have to say that the most important factor in any measure of success I have achieved to date is my faith and alignment. Success is truly a journey, full of both opportunities and obstacles. My passion for the law and pursuit of excellence have certainly helped, but it is my faith and alignment that has kept me grounded during the peaks and valleys of my journey. I have also had the benefit of mentors willing to invest in my personal and professional development.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a business attorney and partner in the law firm, DGIM Law, PLLC. I am also the Founder and CEO of Estates Made Easy, a digital platform for wealth preservation and protection. I am proud to remain locally engaged and nationally respected.

I am most excited about my recent affiliation with DGIM Law, PLLC. Together we are building an internal and external organizational culture focused on insight, innovation, and impact. Our unique formula is our distinct culture. Everything we do, from our client focused counsel to the selection of attorney and non-attorney teams, is driven by our ethos –. Impact through innovation and collective insight.

We pride ourselves on the way we partner with our clients to achieve their business objectives. We believe mutual success occurs when we are all doing better. And we proudly serve in leadership roles and support organizations that strive to help others.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a native Miamian so I love the all the beautiful and unique experiences you can have in the city. If I were hosting a friend visiting the city, I’d definitely start on Monday afternoon at a ventanita for cafecito before starting an art tour beginning at Perez Art Museum Miami. Then we head over to the Historic Ward Rooming House in Overtown, making a pit stop for lunch at Red Rooster. After lunch, I’d likely direct friends to Wynwood for more art and sight-seeing while I catch up on emails and work. Tuesday, I say we hit Venetian Pools for a unique Miami pool day without crowds. Wednesday we take a trip through Liberty City and Little Haiti, stopping by Sweat Records for vinyl and vibes. Thursday Night is music focused, either Jazz at the Four Seasons Bal Harbour or R&B at Tipsy Flamingo. Friday, I try to limit work to things I can do by the pool, so its a low key workday with great views downtown. But in the evening, we are definitely hitting Little Havana for a street tour and block party, followed by drinks at Cafe La Trova.

Saturday, we wake up early for Cars n’ Coffee with the Vintage Vices (Porsche) crew at Imperial Moto. Then back down to Brickell for late morning Pilates at Tremble. Get some rest because Saturday night we are going to the Shrine for AfroBeats and Soca. Sunday, we head over to Historic Virginia Key Beach for a run and yoga practice. Then its time to get dressed and head out for a fancy brunch, Kiki on the River, Zuma, or Mondrian are always a vibe.

I may be giving away too many of my spots, but if any of your readers see me out tell them to say hi!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Judge Raymond Gross who taught Law & Legal Careers at the University of South Florida and introduced me to the practice. Patricia Redmond who was my law school professor and mentor in the John Kozyak Minority Mentoring Program. Judge Laurel Myerson Isicoff, who gave me the honor of being her first law clerk when she took the bench. I am grateful to have their continued support and guidance.
