Meet Ms. Joyce Poliard | Holistic Success Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ms. Joyce Poliard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ms. Joyce, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my business was a mixture of listening to the challenges mompreneurs faced and what I was already good at. Often, we take our gifts for granted because certain things come easily to us. People kept asking me, “How do you stay consistent?” and “How do you balance motherhood and your dreams?” So I based my business of these factors.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a mompreneur building multiple streams of income, I knew it wouldn’t be easy to balance all the various roles. However, I wasn’t expecting to face the burdens that came along with the roles. Being a super mom was not a badge of honor; it felt more like burnout. Many said I would figure it out. It wasn’t that easy. I had to do the research, read the books, test things out in my own life to see what worked. Most importantly, it took having simple systems and prioritizing self-care to get in rhythm. The biggest lesson I learned- there is a difference between capacity and capability. Just because I could do something doesn’t mean I would do it right now. I’ve also learned to become the CEO of me. I had to audit time wasters and things that I didn’t want to do. I want the world to know that moms can birth babies and businesses, and it can be done without burnout.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting the area, I would definitely take them to Shooters and Hatch for brunch. Next, we would go to Cooper’s Hawk for happy hour and wine tasting. Definitely take a stroll on downtown Fort Lauderdale- visit a museum and check out local cuisine.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I would like to give a shout-out to my two daughters for keeping mommy going. Give recognition to The Boss Babes Organization for being a beacon of community and positivity. Lastly, Diamond Leadership Development showed me it’s okay to be more, want more, and have more.
