Meet Nataly Acevedo

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nataly Acevedo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nataly, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Over time, my work-life balance has evolved from simply trying to “manage it all” to realizing that the best investment I can make is in myself. Early on, I pushed myself to always be available, but I’ve learned that taking time for self-care, whether that means rest, exercise, or simply slowing down is the most powerful thing you can do for yourself.
As my personal life has grown, especially after becoming engaged, balance has also come to mean being intentional about spending time with my family and nurturing my relationship. I’ve found that the love and support I receive outside of work makes me stronger and more present in my professional life.
Today, I view balance not as a perfect formula but as an ongoing practice of making space for both ambition and connection. When I care for myself and invest in the people I love, I’m able to show up with more clarity, creativity, and energy in every area of life. It is not about mastering this balance but evolving at your own pace with what feels right for your own needs.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career has been rooted in a passion for helping others heal and thrive, which led me to my current role as a Program Coordinator at the Trauma Resolution Center. In this position, I ensure that our programs run smoothly and effectively so that clients receive the most out of the mental health services we provide. What sets me apart is my ability to blend compassion with organization. I not only care deeply about the individuals we serve but also about the systems and structures that make their care possible.
As I work toward completing my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I have been able to expand my understanding of mental health in ways that directly complement this work. It has given me the perspective to see both the clinical and programmatic sides of care, and that balance has been invaluable in shaping how I approach my role.
It has not always been easy. Stepping into the field while also pursuing advanced education came with challenges. I overcame them by leaning on my support system, trusting my mentors, and staying grounded in my “why”: making sure people feel supported, seen, and empowered in their healing journey.
The biggest lessons I have learned are the importance of self-care, patience, and humility. Healing and growth, whether for clients or ourselves, take time, and both require compassion.
What I want the world to know about my story is that success is never built alone. My path reflects not only my own determination but also the guidance of incredible mentors, the leadership at the Trauma Resolution Center, and the unwavering support of my loved ones. I hope my work shows that when we prioritize community, care, and commitment, we can truly change lives.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Miami for a week, I’d make sure they experienced everything that makes this city so special, from the culture and food to the beaches and vibrant energy.
We would start with a classic Miami morning: cafecito and pastelitos from a local coffee shop. From there, I’d take them to Wynwood to stroll through the art-filled streets, explore the galleries, and grab lunch at one of the eclectic spots nearby.
No trip to Miami is complete without the beach. We would spend a day at South Beach soaking up the sun, and another in Key Biscayne for a quieter, more natural vibe. Evenings would be perfect for rooftop cocktails in Brickell or catching the sunset at Rusty Pelican with its incredible skyline views. And of course, they couldn’t leave without trying Mister 01, my favorite pizza spot.
For culture, I’d take them to the Pérez Art Museum Miami and the Frost Museum of Science, then spend a night out in the Design District exploring the shops and restaurants. We would also dedicate a day to the Everglades for an airboat ride, a hike in Shark Valley, and stargazing at a campsite to experience Florida’s unique nature.
Throughout the week, the focus would be on balance: great food, good music, time by the water, and experiences that showcase Miami’s one-of-a-kind culture. The city is full of vibrant people and hidden gems, and I’d want my best friend to leave with the same love for Miami that I carry with me every day.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout first to my family and my fiancé. Their love, encouragement, and unwavering support have grounded me and reminded me of what truly matters, especially as I navigate the early seasons of my career. The foundation of hard work and altruism that my parents instilled in me from a young age has set the stage for the professional I am becoming.
I also want to recognize my clinical supervisor at the Trauma Resolution Center, Logan Sosa, whose guidance has been invaluable in my growth. In addition, I’m deeply grateful to Yohana Casali, our Executive Director, for leading with vision and providing countless opportunities to learn and develop, not just for me, but for so many others as well.
My journey so far has been shaped not only by personal love and support but also by the professional mentorship and leadership I’ve received. I truly believe that no one’s success is built alone, and I feel grateful every day for the community that has poured into me.
