We had the good fortune of connecting with Nory Aronfeld and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nory, what matters most to you?
AUTHENTICIY. When it comes to this album, I know every beat and lyric to be original. Every song was created from moments of inspiration and exploration, and each experience was unique and impactful.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started producing only 2-3 years ago, but it has since consumed my life entirely. Athough I was never taught an instrument, I have always been musical, and used to dance and do ballet for many years throughout my childhood. Once I started messing around with my computer, I learned I could produce entire records from my bedroom, and that I had a particularly special approach to sound. Quickly, music became cathartic, and as my production improved, my ambitions grew greater.
Now, Im on the brink of releasing my first rap album, self titled “NORY”, which is the culmination of over 2 years worth of hard work and dedication. I am extremely invested in this project and work on it ceaselessly everyday.
I am producing, mixing, mastering, recording and writing this whole album myself, and have done my best to perfect each song over the last few months. Finally, I see the light at the end and know I am reaching the conclusion of the album.
I plan on having 12 songs on the album, each with a very different style which showcases my vocal and technical abilities. There is disco, nineties hip hop, modern edm; but most of the songs do not even fit into a single category, and exemplify my individuality in the Rap game.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have really enjoyed BoomBox in miami, which is a biweekly rave late into the night that attracts a really cool crowd of artists and avid music listeners.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Ema Capilla. She is my girlfriend, but also my art director, graphic designer, videographer/photographer, and associate.
She has been rooting for me from the very first song I made, and is one of the main reasons I have kept going. Ema encourages me to stay true to myself, and has helped refine my taste and music immensely.
She is my fuel, and also my role model, and our love has grown very strong through our amazing collaborations.
