We had the good fortune of connecting with Paola Ospino and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paola, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
In life I find myself being inspired by nature, love and freedom. In business I become inspired by helping others achieve their esthetic, wellness, and artistic goals, improve their quality of life, and feel good with themselves through a holistic approach; a holistic method is one that takes into consideration the needs and wants of the individual’s body, mind, and emotions.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I help people attain their wellness and esthetic goals, as well as artistic goals in the field of dance. In my practice I offer craniosacral therapy, a wide range of esthetic services and dance classes.
What sets me apart is my passion, love and dedication for helping others, and my desire to constantly keep evolving and growing professionally. I also do not limit myself to any specific field, but instead I explore, evolve, and develop all of my talents, which may change and evolve as an individual over time. It is acommon belief, that as humans we should focus on one single thing and practice that for life. This may work for some people, but for others like me, it is important to highlight that being multi-talented, while developing and practicing all talents and passions of the heart, is also okay.
It has taken me many years, education, self-discovery, self-awareness and patience to develop into the professional that I am today. It has not been easy, and it has been a very organic process. It has taken a lot of courage, self-love and self-healing to continue to follow my heart in despite of the many challenges that this journey has brought and may continue to bring.
I always strive to come back to Self to continue professional progress and fulfill my true calling. My hope is to never stop learning and to always continue growing professionally.
I am currently back at University getting a degree in Ayurvedic Wellness and Integrative Medicine, to compliment my current practice. In business I am now recruiting for a project that I’ve had in mind for a couple of years, which is a wellness retreat and wellness center.
In order to achieve my fullest potential, I had to grow my self-esteem and confidence. I had to overcome depression, anxiety, addiction and childhood trauma. At the present moment, I am expecting a new addition to my family. Last month I participated in the Florida Petite Pageant. I decided to participate, while being seven months pregnant, to hopefully set an example for other women, that we can really accomplish anything we set our mind to, even through motherhood. It is not easy, but it is possible. It is also my wish to encourage positive body image and contribute to breaking the mold of harmful societal beauty standards.
I share all this in hopes that it reaches the ears that need to heart that anything is possible, it is possible to overcome mental illness, it is possible to overcome addiction, it is possible to attain anything you want, you just have to push yourself and believe in yourself. My biggest advice is to always follow your heart, never give up and surround yourself with truly supportive individuals.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a special person visiting from out of town, I would invite them to come with me to my nature walks and my favorite nature trails around the county, one of which is Apoxee trail.
I would show them around our beautiful town and take them along the coast of Palm Beach to enjoy all the luxurious beauty and nature our county has to offer. Palm Beach is rich in art so a tour around town to observe the artistic structures and galleries would be a nice treat, starting our own art project would also be a fun and creative way to spend time.
If they are up to it, I would take them to my spa and offer them a day of pampering, including a luxury facial and craniosacral therapy, I would also offer them an Ayurvedic consultation to help improve any aspect of their life that needs to be improved according to their needs, this could be physical, mental or emotional.
One or more nights would be reserved for dancing our little hearts out, either at an establishment or just at the beach under the moonlight, or both.
An afternoon of tea or coffee is a must. We are blessed to live in a very diverse state, so I would invite them to pick any kind of food that they would like to try from other countries or cultures.
I would definitely introduce them to my favorite people that live here, including my artistic and loving friends.
In addition, I would let them decide if there is anything special they would like to do, and it would be my pleasure to host them around town.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have been blessed to have the love and support from family and friends, and I am extremely thankful for each and every one of them.
I have had special support from my mother and father Erika and Patrick Raco; My husband and my sons are the fuel that keep me going and striving for success and happiness every single day.
I also have a group of women who motivate me, and I look up to in life and business, some of them are Ashley Rose from Ashley’s Sacred Spaces, Vibe from Vibeslifestyle and Athena Blair.
My gratitude extends to many other individuals that are a very important part of my life and achievements, I love all of you so very much and I am so thankful to have your love and support.
