We had the good fortune of connecting with Remi Aliseo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Remi, why did you pursue a creative career?
Choosing an artistic/creative career was a passion driven choice. I’ve been drawing and painting since I could remember as a little one, so when Microblading started to become really popular in the industry I was really drawn to it and felt it would be something I’d really enjoy doing, as well as helping others look and feel better! I’ve gone through many different jobs and a few ‘careers’ that were more money driven and it didn’t overall fulfill me at the end of the day. Although they were all building blocks to where I am today!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Thirdeye Studio is a blend of our creativity in art and beauty. The core of our services are helping others feel more confident, beautiful and expressive through tattooing and microblading. I started Thirdeye Studio in 2018 and it has evolved so much over that time span. It all started out of my living room in Encinitas, CA doing eyelash extensions on my friends haha. I then went on to get licensed in Microblading and Tattooing, started working with a friend out there at her studio and pretty quickly decided to move back home to Jupiter, FL to go full throttle on the business. I’ve been an artist all of my life – drawing specifically. So when Microblading and Tattooing popped in my head I was fully drawn to it. I think having an artistic hand, mindset and lifestyle all blends into the work we do, which really sets us apart from others. Being authentic and truly passionate about the work we put out there is super important and I think shows as well. Along the way I’ve learned that quality over quantity is a BIG statement. You really want to put your all into your work, and give each person your fullest attention. Building a business from scratch isn’t the easiest task, but its achievable if you put the work in. When I have an idea, or my mind set on something I want it done yesterday. Thirdeye wasn’t built over night, it definitely took a lot of patience, practice, and time! But its so much fun to being doing what I love everyday!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We are in Jupiter, Florida – we get sunshiney days pretty much everyday. You will find me at the beach and in the ocean as much as possible on my days off.. and thats exactly where I would be bringing a friend. We have so many beautiful places to check out in our surrounding areas. Surfing, diving and swimming in our clear blue waters, National parks to mountain bike or camp out or just soak up the sunshine at the beach all day.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d give a lot of credit to my sister Nikki. We owned a women’s activewear company a few years back that we built and sold. She now runs a successful business of her own helping women-owned businesses build their brand and clientele base etc. I’ve learned so much working with her in my early 20s, and built up a lot of confidence in decision making, risk taking, and overall business building. She gives me the confidence to go for what I really want. We’ve been through a lot of highs and lows in business, and I always go to her with pretty much any business decision or thought. So I would consider her my mentor, sister and best friend.
Kelly Hagen – also an artist in the studio 🙂
