We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Navarrete and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, why did you pursue a creative career?
I decided to pursue an artistic career because I could not see myself doing anything else. It does not matter the time of day, random ideas and inspiration come to me and I feel a need to respond and give life to those ideas.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work is a combination of Fashion, Art and Travel. It is unique and sets me apart because I use my memories and experiences to create wearable pieces of art. I am most proud and excited about my next upcoming Curated Closet, April 30th-May 9th. Curated Closet, is where I go traveling and everyday I share with my audience new garments/ pieces I have made, in addition to exploring new places/locations.. overall creating new memories. SnavaDesigns, is an exploration of Fashion, Art and Travel. The challenge is, since I am still in the beginning stages, I have to find a balance between Creating and Learning the Business side of promoting and growing my brand. Throughout the process I have learned to reach out to those around me and to not be afraid to ask for help. A business is meant to join different communities/ people, it is not meant to be built alone. For that reason, I am where I am today because I have opened myself up to new opportunities and put my faith in the process.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In Miami, the best places to visit is as follows: The Design District, Bayside, South Pointe Park, Helicopter Ride, Aventura Mall, Thrifting at Red White and Blue, fave sushi spots or just yelp new locations, strawberry picking, drive to Orlando or Ginnie Springs.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank my mom, dad and sister. They have been there supporting me physically, emotionally and spiritually. Without them I do not know where I would be. Because of my mom’s love for road trips and the memories I create with my family, I am able to do Curated Closet Trips and create unique pieces including those memories.
