We had the good fortune of connecting with Suzanne Swearengen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Suzanne, has the Coronavirus Crisis changed how you think about work life balance?
I am always cognizant of work-life balance, but as a business owner-operator it is not always the first priority. Being forced to slow down enabled me to realize I need to do a better job of practicing what I preach. I got some much needed rest and enjoyed what I have worked so hard to obtain. While the downtime has been financially worrisome, the rest reignited my creativity which will serve my business well for the times ahead.
What should our readers know about your business?
The Acupuncture & Wellness Center of Florida is a natural medicine clinic with a mission to provide comprehensive care to its patients by utilizing the best of tradition and technology to address physical and emotional health concerns. We strive to help people achieve their health goals in a clinical yet restorative environment, We help patients with a variety of issues, including: pain of all types, digestive issues, sleep issues and allergies. Our most unique services are hypnosis, regenerative medicine, and craniosacral therapy, We also offer access to specialty lab testing that are often overlooked by mainstream medical professionals. Our goal is to address the root of the issue(s) that affects quality of life both emotionally and physically. Another part of how we help people achieve and maintain their health goals is by getting to know them. Through this journey, many of our patients become part of the extended family. I believe this makes us unique to other healthcare clinics. Our patients are never just a number – we genuinely care and still get excited when we have a breakthrough that allows a patient to enjoy things in life that bring them joy. In any aspect of life, we encounter obstacles, challenges and detours. I believe that everything happens for a reason and try to trust the process. It is my experience that I will eventually understand why something that seemed difficult at the time was necessary to set the course at a later time.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Old School Square in Delray beach for a concert A day trip to Key Largo to include a visit to Key Largo Chocolates, the Conch House and a few choice waterfront restaurants Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington: Friday night stars VIP access to Homestead NASCAR race Of course a couple of beach days
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband and my mom. They both have been my sounding board for all kinds of things. Many thoughts/ideas enter my mind and I am best able to sort them by voicing those thoughts. They have always been there to offer feedback or simply be a sounding board until I figure it out on my own. Sometimes I just need to hear out loud… 🙂 Kudos to them for listening!
