Rosario Psy | Fine Artist , Graphic Designer & Mosaicist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rosario Psy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rosario, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
My favorite quote is : “For us, Art is not an end in itself… But it is an opportunity for the true Perception and criticism of the times we live in.” By Hugo Ball, I love this quote because it explains very simply and beautifully what I consider is the point of making art. We artists of all kinds are here to attest and “document “ what we are living in the present and ignite the fire in others to share what we are going through as humans. No bias, no hesitation, just honest experience. Art in my perspective is something that connects us with the unseen and repressed, it liberates us for a little while from the tedious task of trying to fit in.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is a melange of psychedelic, surreal, abstract and visionary art . I love to portray the mystique and spiritual from my perspective.
Through life I’ve come across different types of challenges,(no complaints) they were all helpful and they gave me a new perspective about the art of dealing with life, Probably my best strategy to overcome challenges is to think about what’s actually in my hands and the best way to take accountability to fix whatever went wrong.
Most important lessons learned are: It’s always better to say No on time, If you really want to try something new but you think you can’t deliver just do it , often times it’s better than you expected and you potentially find a new passion. Whatever you do trust yourself, and have fun in the process , sometimes mistakes are the best thing that can happen to your artwork, when starting a new project I try to compare the process of creating to life, it’s ok if it’s both smooth and frustrating. Knowing what you don’t want it’s just as powerful as knowing what you do want.
I’m Bolivian so mixing the mystical with everyday life it’s basically part of our culture, it’s how We see life. (Not mad about that part of cultural conditioning lol ).
The intention of my art is to hopefully bring happiness to its viewers and provoque interesting thoughts, everything we see gets registered in our minds and I try to take advantage of that and hopefully instigate uplifting feelings.
