My spouse and I are parenting our first toddler. Honestly, I think the most important thing we’ve done as parents impacting our child is being present as much as possible; physically, mentally and emotionally. I think being present, event if it’s just to answer “hey, what’s is that” or “why” questions from your child is fundamental. Risk taking has always been an essential part of my growth. I think that in order to grow, and eventually succeed, you have to be willing to fail. I would say that I have experienced failure more often than I have achieved success, but to me this is a win- it is a refinement process. Risk taking is important to me in terms of how I choose to take shots. It was a risk in itself to choose shooting on film.
