We had the good fortune of connecting with Karina Mariie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Karina, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
That YOU are the sole purpose of making sales. Making connections. Making creative merch. At first, only YOU may see your vision, so you are responsible for all leg work. You may have to ask questions, seek help, be open to criticism and most of all, be active. You can’t just post your product on a website. You have to promo, create promo content, dive into analytics, communicate/build a customer relationship platform etc. This is why I always emphasize to be passionate about what you have to offer or else this all may feel like a mistake.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Trying new things with my brand and being versatile I feel is what sets me apart. I have a strong grind to promote Karina Mariie and offer something to appeal to diverse groups. My website has products for sale as well as “Start your Biz” blogs to help others hop on the small biz bandwagon. I’m most proud of stepping out of my comfort zone and FOLLOWING THROUGH. When first starting a business (with little experience) at time, it may be difficult to persist. However; it’s ok to take time to gather your focus and try new things- find what makes you passionate! I got to where I am by networking. Talking, asking questions, SHOWING UP. You only get out what you put in and that’s for all that you do! It wasn’t easy. I haven’t found the perfect remedy to overcoming challenges besides accepting the fact that growing a business doesn’t happen over night. I learned not to beat myself if things are going slow because I am only human working on a project with a vision only I can see right now. Lessons i’ve learned would be to stay confident in your vision, listen to your gut, keep your day job while you launch and don’t be afraid to evolve and try new angles!!! I would want the world to know that she persisted❤️.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Miami of course. There’s a handful of things to do, eat and see! I’d say we can eat some brunch, do water sports and seek out some nightlife activities!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes! I definitely had some talks with some friends in pursuing my brand – entrepreneur IG: @Ashleycierra was able to give me wise words on the leap of faith into entrepreneurship. She made it evident that it’s not for everyone, to make sure you have stable income & to try working at your job while launching for security & mostly that you yourself are the reason for putting how much you wanna get out of it. Tiffany Ellington @natrualtingz has was also a great initiator along with helping me create a base platform to launch from! Otherwise thank you so much to friends, family and believers who have purchased, shared and looked so good in my custom designed multipurpose scarves!
