We had the good fortune of connecting with Danny Caruso and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danny, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
A very interesting question….

During my evolution performing as a Magician/Mentalist I have come to realize that almost anything can be a source of inspiration, therefore I would say the right piece of”information” at the right time could be a source of inspiration…

That piece of the puzzle that was missing for your next routine or your next show. Of course that information can come in many ways, and obviously also from a human source .

Society in general is inspiring and the way we evolve and our patterns. One of my main sources of inspiration is human nature, and that can translate into many different aspects; for example I love music, the way it evolves thru time and its many different genres. I also admire many musicians and their performing skills. I am also inspired by athletes and athletics for the intense discipline they require.

But without a doubt my biggest source of inspiration is GOD and the power of the universe. So many things we cant explain, and that’s also the power of magic and the power of the MIND .

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Since very early I had an immediate interest for magic and performing in general. I began watching David Copperfield’s specials on TV, and collecting any items related to magic that I was able to get from the local toy stores and book shops. I also started learning how to play musical instruments as well, and I really enjoyed rock n roll music growing up.

Magic was set aside for a while until later when the internet came out. After that I would begin to meet and gather with professional magicians from my hometown in Venezuela. It was at that point that I knew I had something good on my hands.

Eventually in 2008 I went to Los Angeles California and visited the Magic Castle were I would learn from the top performers of the world .

My career started developing as a performer for private and corporate events, as well as in competitions and magic conventions in South America. However, I was ready for more, and it was time for bigger things when I decided to try and develop my career even more and moved to Florida where I had to start from scratch.

I have learned many lessons along the way, the most important is to be true to yourself, and being humble through means of knowing how to take criticism.

I want people to know that they can trust me in working for the success of their event, and also that I still have many cards up my sleeve for future shows and surprises to come.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh my god thats a difficult question… Im very low key but i know a couple places i would definitely recommend.

Ocean Drive and Lincoln Rd are a must if you want to live the Miami experience. Of course a visit to the beach… and if you love Italian food as me I can recommend a place close to calle 8 called ” the red carpet “.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If anyone deserve all the credit for any amount of success I’ve had is my Mom ( Delia ) . So I would dedicate this shout out to her . Also to Maria Ibanez and the Miami Greater Magic Club, the organization that opened its doors for me when I moved to FL.
