We had the good fortune of connecting with Eva Franco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eva, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Balancing work and life has been a journey, especially this year. Moving in with my partner meant adjusting to a new rhythm, finding ways to support each other’s routines, and making space to grow together. We’ve learned so much about each other over time, and thankfully things have settled nicely. It has also been challenging to manage time with family and friends. There’s always a celebration, a gathering, or a chance to get together, which is wonderful and I’m really thankful that I get the chance to do that, but it can pull me out of any routine I’m trying to keep.

As a first-time business owner, I quickly realized just how many hats I have to wear. It’s like suddenly I wasn’t just an interior designer, I was now my own accountant, graphic designer, drafter, customer service team, social media manager, etc. Managing all these responsibilities on top of a 9-5 was, and still is, very challenging. But it’s possible, with the right mindset.

There’s still so much I’m learning along the way! Some days feel overwhelming and my motivation isn’t always steady. My current goal is creating a balance where work and personal life truly coexist, rather than one taking over the other. I’m working on building sustainable strategies that will help me stay consistent in the long run. It’s a balance I’m excited to keep building!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career has been a mix of creativity and fast-paced evolution. I’ve always believed that interiors should balance beauty with practicality, and for this I want every design to be more than just the looks of it. It should make life easier, more inspiring, and feel like a genuine reflection of the owners.

One challenge I’ve been facing lately (something that other designers can probably relate to) is the evolving expectations of clients, and I’ve recognized the need to adapt. To meet their expectations, I’ve had to push myself beyond my current skill set. The 3D modeling and rendering software I initially used often wasn’t enough when it came to bringing the client’s full visions to life. So, I’ve dedicated a lot of time to learning new programs on my own, mostly through YouTube tutorials and a lot of trial and error. It hasn’t been easy, but this commitment to expanding my skills has really helped me communicate my design intent visually. In the end, clients don’t just get a well designed space; they experience a piece of my story, my vision, and my dedication to creating something truly unique.

For me, Interiors by Eva Franco is about more than aesthetics; it’s about creating spaces that feel like home through timeless design and functionality.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love this question! When my family or friends visit, I always want to offer them an experience full of fun and relaxation. We’d start our mornings with ALO beach yoga to energize for the day. After that, I’d take them to a wellness event or a cold plunge session to refresh and relax. For lunch, we’d go for brunch at Zuma, which has one of the most stunning atmospheres and views.

In the evenings, we’d go to the Design District to explore the boutiques and art galleries. If there are more guys in the group, we might catch a Miami Heat game for the local sports culture. For dinner, I’d recommend treating ourselves to Makoto for its incredible sushi, Delilah for the vibe, or Osteria for a taste of Italian food.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a huge shoutout to Mike, my partner. He’s my anchor, always there to keep me grounded and supported, especially on the busiest days. His steady presence makes everything feel possible.

My mom has also been an incredible influence. As a business owner herself, she set the standard high, teaching me what it means to lead with both perseverance and grace. Her example of strength and resilience is something I carry with me every day.

And my dad deserves recognition too; he’s always encouraged me to dream big and has been there every step of the way. Each of them has played a significant role in my journey, and I couldn’t be where I am today without their love and support.
