We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeannine McQueen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeannine, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
You are enough. That’s one of my favorite affirmations because a lot of times you have to remind yourself that you are doing the best that you can. You have to recognize the negative self talk and nip it before it continues. Everybody works at their own pace. Just believe in yourself, remain focused, set goals and tackle them. But don’t ever for a minute think that you are less than because you may not be where you want to be as yet.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Arthur McQueen Inc is a fashion lifestyle brand specializing in handbags. Inspiration comes from family, culture, music, the world. I get most excited whenever I launch a new product to the website. It must be the anticipation to see how well each product will do. Working your own business is definitely a lot of work but it is well worth it. Nothing is easy with owning a business. It’s all about trial and error. Build relationships with clientele. And always be grateful. My biggest lesson I’ve learned is no matter how scared you are…do it anyway.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Fort Lauderdale has so much to offer! Definitely a day or two…or three, at the beach is required, My personal favorites are either Lauderdale by the Sea or Hollywood beach. For nice restaurants, and to enjoy some scenery, I recommend going out to Las Olas. You have to make sure to fit in some shopping so Sawgrass Mall is definitely the place to go. Shopping there will take more than one day though, so you definitely have to be prepared. For more fun and hang out spots, I’d say to go to the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood. There’s always different events happening there along with more great restaurants to eat at. For more family oriented locations for the kiddies, there’s always Butterfly World which is a kid favorite and there’s the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens which are just absolutely gorgeous. The possibilities are endless.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is dedicated to my family…the entire McQueen family as big as it is and even with as much as it continues to grow. They are just one of the many reasons I decided to launch my brand. Each style handbag is named after a family member. McQueen represents strength, resilience, dedication, hard work, love, compassion, togetherness and so many other things that make me feel inspired and proud to be a part of this family.
