Meet Jhunelle Jureidini | Travel Blogger

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jhunelle Jureidini and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jhunelle, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Achieving a goal within my brand makes me happy, whether big or small! Those wins come in many forms, like visiting a destination on my wishlist or securing a new deal. It makes me happy because I never dreamed when starting a travel blog that it would reward me in so many ways.
My hobby transitioned into a business sooner than I planned, and was initially meant to be short-term. 3 years later I’m still learning to free myself of imposter syndrome, and such achievements are helping greatly with my self-confidence.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
1 thing I believe sets me apart from many travel bloggers is focusing mainly on domestic trips and native products. I want tourists as well as locals to discover some of the lesser known treasures within my Jamaican backyard. I’m mostly proud that that SimplyLocal.life continues to do that, so much so that it became an income stream.
I got to where I am today professionally thanks to some courage and a lot of support! It definitely hasn’t been easy mentally or financially but thanks to rewarding experiences, reassuring results, plus faith in myself and the journey I have been able to overcome challenges. As my own and biggest critic, I’ve learned that success comes in many forms and it’s important to acknowledge each milestone while working towards the next one.
I’d like the world to know that if seeking travel inspiration, especially a local’s guide to beautiful Jamaica, you’ll find multiple insights and ideas on my pages.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some favourite spots in Kingston (the capital city of Jamaica) that I often take visitors to include: – A trip to Holywell Park and a cafe in the Blue Mountains UNESCO World Heritage Site
– Beach day on a sandy islet called Limecay off the coast
– Walking tour seeing the murals of Downtown Kingston’s art district
– A foodie + history trip to the island’s 1st gastronomic centre, Devon House
– Nightlife and drinks at a bar

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my supportive parents, who may still not fully understand what I do for a living but never hesitate to offer encouragement and sing loud praises.
