We had the good fortune of connecting with Kahla King and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kahla, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want to be remembered for my passion. I make a conscious decision, every time I am serving the public in the capacity of my business owner role, to stay true to my purpose in that role and genuine in nature. You’ll always do things to the best of your ability when doing so.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I own and operate a business that offers accounting services but specializes in taxation. I am most proud of how far I’ve come. Trial and error, researching and networking has gotten me to where I am today business-wise. Easy for me, lol, no. As an introvert, I do numbers but had to adjust to the networking part. There is definitely a true appreciation in the transition I’ve had. The only way I could overcome this was by just doing it. Jumping out there with failure being the result, but what’s a little failure when you could essentially, eventually live your dreams. Me, my brand and story are all based on growth, resilience, commitment and helping for the greater good. What sets my business apart? With my recent start of Kookie Girl, my clients also get fresh baked cookies…so there you have it lol.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A friend coming for a week long trip would definitely try the eateries! We would make stops to Trindy Gourmet for breakfast, Harold’s for the best coffee spot, and Howley’s Restaurant for an after hours bite. Clematis is always a great vibe with the bars on the strip and the intracoastal close by.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to the late great Freddie King, Sr., my father. Inheriting your entrepreneurial spirit and out-of-the box thinking…I dedicate this to you.
