Hi Karen, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
One piece of conventional advice we disagree with is, “Get the pet groomed no matter what it takes because that’s what the owner wants.” While we understand the importance of fulfilling client expectations, our priority is always the comfort and wellbeing of the pet. Every pet is unique, and we thrive to support each one in the way they need. Sometimes, this means taking several visits to build trust and comfort with a pet, but ultimately, it supports their overall health and happiness. Forcing a pet through a process they’re too stressed or fearful to handle goes against everything we stand for as a holistic grooming spa. Our approach focuses on creating a calming, stress-free environment using soothing techniques, essential oils, and plenty of patience. We work at the pet’s pace to ensure they feel safe and cared for—because a happy, healthy pet is what truly matters in the long run.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At Pawsitive Tribe Holistic Grooming, we’ve built our business around the core values of love, mindfulness, and compassion for all animals. What sets us apart is our holistic approach—our spa is not just about grooming; it’s about creating a tranquil experience for pets where their emotional and physical well-being comes first. We treat every pet as an individual, ensuring they feel safe, nurtured, and stress-free during their time with us.

We’re most proud of the relationships we’ve built with our clients and their fur babies. Seeing the joy on their faces when they pick up their happy, clean, and relaxed pets is what fuels us every day. We’re also excited to be growing as a community, connecting with pet parents who value mindful care as much as we do.

Getting here wasn’t easy. Starting a new business always comes with its challenges—finding the right team, establishing trust in a new market, and navigating the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. But our love for animals and unwavering belief in our mission keeps us going. We overcome challenges by staying true to our values, listening to our clients, and learning from every experience.

The biggest lesson we’ve learned is that authenticity and heart go a long way. When you genuinely care about what you do, it shows—and people connect with that.
