Hi Katiuska, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Throughout my more than 25 years as a microbiologist, I have always believed that science serves a greater purpose than simply producing results—it has the power to improve people’s quality of life and protect our environment. My passion for microbiology has always been at the core of my work, guiding every step of my professional journey.
When I began a new chapter in the United States, I did so with the firm intention of continuing to practice my profession, and today, through NexLab Environmental, I have the opportunity to directly impact the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our community. Our work helps create healthier and environmentally safe spaces, from homes to businesses, contributing to disease prevention, environmental risk control, and peace of mind for those who trust us.
For me, social and environmental impact is not just part of the business—it is the heart of my vocation and the driving force behind everything I do.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
For me, NexLab Environmental represents my passion for microbiology and my commitment to practicing it with excellence and professionalism.

More than a laboratory, NexLab Environmental is a space where science serves the community, providing reliable analyses that help create safer and healthier environments, with a focus on results, the quality of our processes, and compliance with internationally accredited quality standards, which reinforces the reliability and excellence of our results, as well as the personalized attention and trust we offer.

Our clients do not just receive results; they experience a process where they feel supported, confident, and treated with professionalism. This is something that makes me especially proud, especially when I hear that from the moment they enter the laboratory, they perceive this combination of trust, safety, and closeness, which is also conveyed through small gestures such as a smile and a positive attitude.

My professional journey has been a process of adapting to new environments, validating my experience, and building my path in a highly competitive market, based on continuous learning, where every challenge has become an opportunity to grow, strengthen my vision, and consolidate my commitment to excellence. Along the way, I have learned that consistency, passion, and surrounding yourself with a strong team are key to moving forward, and that true success is not only measured by results, but by the positive impact you create in people’s lives.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In my opinion, Miami is a fascinating metropolis, full of energy and cultural diversity, where people from all over the world come together, creating a unique blend of flavors, music, art, and traditions that make there always something new to discover.
Rather than focusing on specific places, I believe the most valuable part is using your free time to connect with friends and family while enjoying what the city has to offer. Whether it’s exploring the outdoors, experiencing the local cuisine, enjoying art and music, or simply relaxing, Miami provides endless opportunities to create meaningful experiences.
For me, the most exciting part is exactly that—sharing special moments and building lasting memories while embracing the richness and vibrant spirit of the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

Throughout my journey, I have learned that it is always important to be surrounded by people with noble hearts, who, without even knowing it, have been a source of support, inspiration, and constant motivation.

I especially want to dedicate my shoutout to the loves of my life, my children, my little pieces of heaven, whose love and joy inspire me every day to give my best and are my greatest motivation to keep growing; and to my faith, which guides me and gives me the spiritual strength I need in every step of my path.

I am also deeply grateful to this country, which opened its doors for me to continue practicing my profession, and to the leadership and entire NexLab Environmental team, whose passion, commitment, and teamwork make it possible for our project to positively impact the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our community.

This achievement is the result of a collective effort, and I feel deeply proud to be part of this mission with all my heart
