We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Diaz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natalie, why did you pursue a creative career?
I decided to pursue a creative career because as a content creator/influencer I can work with brands that I love and already use. I can make videos, take photographs, collaborate with new companies, write blog articles, etc. There are endless possibilities and that’s something that really caught my attention when I decided to be a content creator/influencer. I find it way more fascinating and personally fulfilling than sticking to just one thing. I also like challenges and every time I start working with a new brand is always a creative challenge. The most important thing, however, is that I am helping other people, specially new moms like myself to pursue their dreams and keep going.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started my influencer career a month after Covid got to the US. I found myself unemployed because the place where I was working as a photographer could not allow me in anymore. I decided to enter the influencer world using my instagram. I also started writing blogs about motherhood, the products that I use and just like that brands started approaching me to collaborate. I started with 230 followers and now I have 2500 followers. I applied and now have affiliate links with Amazon and Liketoknow.it. I have worked with more than 20 brands including my latest achievement SmartMax by Target. Consistency has been the key in my success so far and I will continue to be consistent. My brand is basically myself as a new mom in my 30’s and I talk about motherhood, about my toddler, about products that I use, fashion and skincare. It’s not easy especially with a toddler, but as any job, it’s always a lot of work and I have to just keep going.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would start by taking my best friend to Ft. Lauderdale Beach because it’s truly beautiful, then I would take them for breakfast at Pinecrest Bakery in Pinecrest, then I would take them to Wynwood to see all the art and walls. I would also take them to a Farmer’s Market in Davie called Marando Farms that sells a lot of organic fruits, veggies and awesome smoothies. I would also take them to Viscaya just to see how amazing those gardens are.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my husband Sam for supporting me in my career and for believing in what I want to do as crazy as it sounds. For helping me with my photography and video setups and anything I need and for telling me to keep going every single day. I also want to dedicate my shoutout to my parents, my parents in law for helping us and for being great grandparents to our baby Jacob. Lastly, I would like to dedicate my shoutout to Gwen Lane & Spark Society for coaching and giving me mentorship, and guidance on my influencer career.
