We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicolle McEachin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicolle, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I am a mom of two children, a teenage son and young daughter. I always stress the importance of having your own mind and not letting anyone “tell” you what you can and cannot do (within reason of course), however, on the inside I felt like I was not living that way. I felt that I was not showing my children how to be a boss because I was always working for someone other than myself. I thought about several things I could do to become a business owner but nothing made me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside. So I started paying attention to the things I said to myself, people I was around, and most importantly my hobbies. The realization hit me that I love to connect with people on all levels. How could I connect and work for myself? A question I struggled with for a long time but then thought about the home buying journey. I thought JACKPOT!!! Connecting people to their home is how I will become a business owner. So I started in Real Estate. The home buying and/or selling journey is not an easy one. I notice with my clients during this process we connect, and not just surface level. The highs and lows of this process make me feel even more grateful when we get to the finish line! My children are my motivators I want to always lead by example. Letting them know that they can dream it and DO IT!
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a Realtor! During this journey of becoming a licensed Realtor, I learned a lot about myself. I thought that everything would just come to me easy like 1,2,3 but it did not. I had to work hard to get my license and to find the right fit for me to start my journey. I moved around a few times in the business until I found my niche. Once I found my niche I had to hone in on it and focus all my attention to it. Now that my vision is clear, I can say I know my purpose in this journey. It is not just about selling a house or helping you buy a house but about making connections along the way. Building relationships during the process. Letting my clients know that I am truly someone they can call on during the process when the nerves take over, when you are ready to give in, and most importantly when you cross that finish line! Connecting with my clients sets me apart for many others because I let building the connection (finding the vibe) be my focus first then the home will come.
