We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandy Joachim and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sandy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to create items that are not only cute but incorporate my faith into my business.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m most proud of the woman I’m being in this journey of entrepreneurship because to be honest following your dreams is hard! Not only do you have to believe in the vision, but you have to strive for it when no one else around you quite understands it yet. It’s takes strength! Emotionally, mentally, physically & spiritually you are tested, but it builds determination and a greater relationship with oneself. I’ve tried to launch my art and fashion business for years and many times I’d let fear or frustration hold me back, but one day I decided to face my fears knowing that if I am backed by God, nothing can stop me! For, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take her to my favorite place in the world first. THE BEACH! I love the beach, hence why my business is named after a beach Shack lol… We would eat seafood, drink coconuts, and collect shells. After easing her into the tropical experience we would enjoy a day out on a boat and I would surprise her with jet skiing (because I’m a lil daredevil lol..) Aside from our beach day I would take her to Wynwood where we would explore the art in the city and TASTE the art at “Smorgasbord” where food is also, Art.. 🙂 Throughout her stay we would visit museums, botanical gardens, and jazz restaurants eating, dancing and exploring. Finally, I would take her sky diving in the evening so she could see the world from above as the Sun sets and experience the Awe of God as I once did a few birthdays ago.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without my faith in God and relationship with Jesus Christ. The risks I have taken and even the inspiration for the business is because of my faith. One of my favorite scriptures is Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭‬ “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge God, And He shall direct your paths.” because I’ll admit that I don’t always know what to do, so I trust God and let Him lead the way.
