We believe that the music that we portray to the world is inspiration that comes within us in the purest and sincerest form. We always strive to do what feels good to us and that has been something that inspires people. So if you ask us what is the legacy that we want to leave behind, would definitely be the legacy of inspiring people to be themselves, to follow their paths in life trusting that everybody can contribute to the world in their very own way. I would like to be remembered as a person who inspired others to seek and fight for their dreams not to give up, no matter how old you are, whether you are very young or very adult. That life is here and now and that the universe is willing to give us what we want with true faith and hope. I would like to be remembered as a person who transmitted peace and tolerance and who always seeks to transmit his knowledge to everyone so that they could fly with their own wings. Read more>>
The Smoogies | Band
We want The Smoogies to be remembered as a band that made music for the community. The whole concept of the band came from Harvel one day saying The Smoogies was a musical smoothie; a blend of cultures, sounds and influences. One day recently Vaughn said that we were making “People Music”. That moment has caused a shift in the way we are composing now for our next record and will be a theme in our music going forward. We really just set out to be a band that makes music for every day people to groove to. David, Dion, Harvel and Vaughn have all been making music in different bands of all genres an styles in separate combinations for over 10 years. There are some things we have figured out along the way with playing with each other in all of those settings. We want people to remember that our music is always vibin’ in a way that even people who don’t necessarily understand what were doing sonically can still grab on to it and bob their head or grab their partner and groove with us despite how complex or virtuosic the arrangements can get.
