Why did you pursue an artistic or creative career?

Artists and creatives face innumerable challenges given that their career path often doesn’t come with a playbook, a steady paycheck or any form of safety net. Art has always been more than just a passion for me — it’s been a lifeline and a form of expression that helped me push through some of my greatest challenges. Doing something you love comfortably at a stage where it won’t drastically affect your living is encouraging to try and break past the threshold of it being a hobby and becoming more of an occupation. I discovered my passion for beauty during a difficult period in high school—it became my escape and creative outlet.
